  • (2025-08-02) 予約次郎: It works reliably, and you can set URL pattern match rules as long as they're not too specific. If you want to set different rules within a pattern match, you can do so by changing the order of the rules. Very sophisticated! While doing research on a search site, it is sometimes difficult to find an open tab because it has been moved to a tab group. It would be helpful to easily pause the extension as needed.
  • (2025-07-26) Gavin Jackson: I have tried many rules based tab grouping extensions and this is by far the best one. Thank you for making this :)
  • (2025-06-30) Aleg Malinovsky: pattern matching is amazing - it even supports paths and not only domains with wildcards. the only use case i could not work around is having wildcards in the middle of the domain (example.*.*.*.domain.com)
  • (2025-06-25) Valentin Danner: Super useful. I'm also a tab junkie and this is so helpful for my work. It would be great if the closed tab groups could disappear from the browser's bookmark bar as it's creating its own super long list of tab groups (those open and those which were closed some time ago. I don't need to see them). Also would it be possible to create a tab group that auto-groups tabs that are not under a specific rule so as to keep the groups neater? For Google Docs it would be useful to prevent duplicate tabs. I find myself with multiple copies of the same doc open at once after a while haha
  • (2025-05-10) Denny Lenselink: Excellent! Would be nice to implement a feature that auto collapses inactive groups (in de same window) and when selecting another group it activates the last active tab in that group. Also I would love to see a black and white icon theme.
  • (2025-03-25) zx gong: very practical! it would be great if the grouping could be sorted according to rules, so that I can know where the tags I want are right away
  • (2025-01-16) Christopher Galpin: This extension is phenomenal. There is so much care and superb design in this extension, even the re-ordering of group rules. And the button to jump directly to the rules from a group! The Strict/Merge options... such critical features! This is a real developer, with their code on GitHub, and not some weird nameless faceless "someone" which I keep seeing behind popular extensions (those others make me concerned they will rug-pull to an advertising extension, wouldn't be the first time). This one is amazing. Honestly it has already made a massive difference in keeping tabs organized across 3 monitors; if I want to watch something I can open YouTube/Twitch/Netflix/whatever and it snaps that fresh tab into my existing Watch group where I go, "Oh yeah, I was already watching this other thing" without having to hunt anything down. I love it.
  • (2025-01-12) Yehoshua {Jeff} Krakowski: Can there be a minimum number of tabs - like 3 before a group is formed
  • (2024-11-29) Eden Caldas: Works very nicely. If you have pre-existing groups, you have to add them to this addon's config. There's a convenient option for that.
  • (2024-11-27) Valentin Baert: Nice tool, however it often creates duplicate tab groups buttons that I have to manually delete
  • (2024-11-23) Imran Majeed: Perfect tool for keeping my work organized! I've added all my servers, working sites, and client sites. Highly recommend it! بہترین ہے۔
  • (2024-11-22) Lucas Caixeta: Had to install multiple extensions until found this one that works. Great job!
  • (2024-10-17) Toyin: Excellent extension and thank you for creating it. Could you please consider adding: prevent duplicate tabs, tab group position (manual and a-z), collapse inactive tab groups, discard tabs in x group after x time, and a filter option to create dynamic group names based on a part of a URL or title? As a non-urgent request, if tab groups could also be backed up to bookmarks that would be wonderful. Reason for some of these ideas: discarding tab extensions tend to not work in groups and/or with your extension, and I lose time by trying to locate specific tabs when multiple groups are open and in an ever-changing order.
  • (2024-09-28) Error fixer!: thank you box this is the one i want to manage my work easy way we can add any links has a list of our group love it :)
  • (2024-09-27) Moshe Saroussi: Wow !! great extension Thank you :)
  • (2024-09-22) Mateus Baptista: Great extention. Thank you my friend. It there any place to download a pre setup rules for to be imported?
  • (2024-09-03) Matthew Robinson: I really like this extension - Setup/configuration is pretty simple and then it just works. I wish there was a way to set a new tab group as an exception - Scenario is that I work with a number of customer databases with similar URLS. I create groupings for each customer environment. Wonderful. It would be awesome to be able to manually create a group of tabs for a particular ticket/issue number, and not have the extension move them back to the general tab. I'm imagining something like "if the tab starts with '#' then don't touch it." Still a wonderful app!
  • (2024-08-30) Joel DiPietro: This was one of my favorite extensions - however it seems to have entirely stopped working for me recently and I'm unsure why. Chrome released their experimental AI autogroup tabs feature which may have changed something about tab groups? I have this disabled and tried installing and reinstalling - if it ever works again it's a 5 star extension, works much better than the google autogroup one for not spamming you with huge numbers of tab groups.
  • (2024-07-09) Anthony Brooks: Works well. I really like the use of rules to signify what should go in which groups. Two things that I would like to see, though (the first with a higher priority imo than the second): 1. Auto-grouping a set number of tabs (could either be 2 or more or a user-set number). So, if I have two tabs of the same site, it will create a domain-specific group (provided a previously created custom group that matches the domain doesn't already exist). At the moment, I have most of the preset groups that I can think of and everything else goes into an "Other" group using just "*" as the rule, but it would be nice to not have them pile into one hectic Other folder. I tried combining this extension with another that I had previously did that wasn't as good at custom rules, but did the autogrouping and would also move the most recent tab in the group to the first position after X amount of seconds. Which works, but the two extensions are rather buggy/laggy together, so it would be nice to just have this functionality in this extension. 2. Being able to exclude domains. This isn't as crucial as the sorting functionality somewhat enables exclusion through priority, but it would still be nice to have. Hopefully, that's helpful? A bit rambly, but I tried to include what details I could :)
  • (2024-06-13) Chetan Meena: Works as expected. I wish there was a way to externalize the config file. Currently If I want to manually edit the config file, I need to export it and import it every time I make a change.
  • (2024-06-09) Abbie Davis: I really love what this extension does! My only issue is that if a tab group is saved and hidden, the extension doesn't realize that and just creates a new group for any appropriate tabs, rather than recognizing that there is already a hidden saved group with the same name and adding the tab to that. Then things get really weird and messy. I wouldn't even mind if it un-hid the saved group to add the tab. Being that chrome will sync saved groups, this functionality would make this extension perfect for my goal of maintaining the exact same session across several computers.
  • (2024-06-08) Rauson Ali: I have been looking for this for a long time. thanks for making this and sharing the source code also.
  • (2024-05-07) Colton McCormack: I installed this forever ago and it still "just works" and has enhanced productivity for my 80 tabs open at a time personality greatly! Highly recommended.
  • (2024-05-07) Oliver R: Really great extension - I'd love to suggest the option of creating tab groups by date (ie; auto-creation of 'today's' group each day - if that's possible?)
  • (2024-04-21) Nectis: It's almost perfect because it solves the issue of new tabs not being allocated to an existing group, however I want all my new tabs to be put into a "Tabs" group which i'll manually sort later, if that functionality is added ill change my rating to 5 stars. So instead of allocating a group for specific URLs, just every time the new tab button is clicked it goes to designated group. Edit: actually it'd be perfect if every website, not just new tabs could be assigned to one group, to account for when people link you a random news article etc, setting up every reasonable url that someone could send you would take to much time.
  • (2024-04-16) Rose Bailey: This is an amazing extension, both easier to use and more customizable than the other automatic tab grouping extensions I've used. My job involves a lot of web apps and ticketing systems, so autogrouping has become a must-have. As a suggestion, it would be great to be able to use emojis in group titles. It's a feature I use quite a bit when grouping tabs by hand. (EDIT: It actually does this! I was copy-pasting wrong. Thanks for the clarification, Florian. Review raised from 4⭐ to 5⭐!) Thank you for developing this, it's excellent all around.
  • (2024-04-06) Chen Sasi: I LOVE it, especially how easy it is to operates + the Merge and Strict options. One feature that I believe would elevate it even further is keyboard shortcuts, enabling the toggling of features on and off. This would be incredibly useful when placing two windows side by side from the same domain (or even the same page) without needing to manually disable the merge feature. @loilo.de - what do you think? Is this feasible? Edit: Changing the rank from five to two, as the auto-grouping and enforcement features are not working as expected.
  • (2024-03-14) Pavel: Very usefull
  • (2024-03-06) Aikaterini Sereti: I have been testing it for a bit and I loved it! It is going to make my day at work so much easier with all the tabs I constantly keep open!!
  • (2024-02-29) You're gonna burn alright: Love it, and the auto collapse extension works really well with this
  • (2024-02-28) Riccardo Mares: Very very great product. I've an idea to improve it (but I don't know if is techinically feasible): when the tabs of a group are inactive for a T time, the group auto-collapse. It maybe an option setting for every defined groups or generally for all your great extension!
  • (2024-02-22) Otavio Schwanck: top
  • (2024-02-14) Nigel D'Souza: Love this extension. May I request a auto-collapse feature please?
  • (2024-02-03) Henk Heidstra: It only auto-groups tabs if you configure it beforehand, where you have to provide the links yourself. Three stars because ultimately it works, but i'd love to give it the full five, if it did what you would think it should do.
  • (2024-01-29) David Haveman: This is super cool! the only feature I see it lacking is closing an entire group all at once. not sure if possible with the extension framework, but would be super cool! Thanks either way, this is awesome.

  • (2023-09-12) Nate Barbettini: I don't use too many Chrome extensions, and I've never reviewed one, but this extension is simply awesome! Super simple to set up and it just works. It made tab groups usable for me in Chrome. Thanks Florian!
