- Untrustworthy extension that hijacks address bar searches My default search engine was set to Google in Chrome. The address bar was set to use Google, my homepage and new tab page were normal, and Yahoo did not appear anywhere in my search settings. Even with that setup, every now and then when I typed a query in the address bar, the results would open in Yahoo instead of Google. It did not happen on every search, which made it harder to notice and to track down. To work out what was causing it, I: • Checked that Google was still selected as the default search engine for the address bar • Reviewed the list of search engines and removed anything unfamiliar • Checked my homepage and new tab settings • Turned other extensions off and tested in between The problem only disappeared when I removed HD Video Downloader. Once I uninstalled this extension, every address bar search went back to Google and the random Yahoo redirects stopped completely. An extension that quietly intercepts address bar searches and sends them to a different search engine, while all of Chrome’s visible settings still show Google as the default, is behaving like adware or a browser hijacker. It is interfering with basic browser behaviour in a way that is not transparent or trustworthy. If you notice unexplained redirects to Yahoo when you search from the address bar, I strongly recommend uninstalling this extension.

- When I play a video on YouTube, it says, "Nothing to download here." Could you please fix this? That's not true. There is a video playing, and I refreshed my page, but the extension still says nothing to download here. Thank you.
