Image from store Default Google Account
Description from store With the extension, you can: 1️⃣ Select the default account for all Google Products (except Youtube). 2️⃣ Customize default accounts for each Google Product Separately. 3️⃣ Quickly switch between Google Accounts using the hotkey "Option (Alt) + {num}" (to edit/disable this shortcut type "chrome://extensions/shortcuts" in the URL bar). It's common for users to have multiple Google Accounts: several personal, several work- or client-related. And it's annoying to switch between them every time you receive a Google Meet link or open Gmail.com. With the Default Google Account, you can, for example, set up work accounts for Meet and Calendar, personal for Gmail and Maps, client for AdWords and Analytics. Save yourself precious time and frustration by using our extension. 🗃 Default Google Account is a fully open-source project under BSD 3-Clause License. We'd appreciate it if you buy us a coffee (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/default) if you find the extension useful) ☕️ Any feedback or suggestions, please send to [email protected] Developed with ❤️, 🍕, and 🐈 at Uptech (https://uptech.team/) and Sommo (https://www.sommo.io/). Note: Youtube uses a different account system, the extension does not work yet with Youtube accounts. We're working on that.

  • (2022-07-26) Tomas Mrozek: It's brilliant. The only thing that I didn't figure out is how to create a rule for Contacts (contacts.google.com).
  • (2022-07-15) Jeffry “Mr Jefferson” Viveros Angola: Edit: after change the shortcuts this extension is all I wanted, thanks for the support Andriy Bas. Is not a bad extension bad it overwrites at symbol is Spanish keyboard and is annoying

  • (2022-07-07) Paris: so.. it works, but only for 1 device, I have multiple devices and in order for this extension to work i have to reset it, then when i come back to a different device, i have to reset it once again (3-4 times a day)
  • (2022-06-17) Matty Strickler: Doesn't work. No way to add further google accounts. Totally useless.
  • (2022-06-13) Sonny Gill: Great extension and just what I needed. Only downfall, it doesn't have Data Studio as part of the list of Google services.
  • (2022-06-04) Keshav pundhir: VERY GOOD GOOD PLAY STORE VERY LIKE TO ME
  • (2022-05-05) Витя Чел: Not working with YouTube. My account got banned but only on YouTube and I need it in browser and other services but on youtube specifically I need other account by default. I cannot switch it on website: I click Login and it refirects me on help page instead of letting me change my account so I had to sign out of all accounts and sign in to change my default account. YouTube has no /u/1/ thing so I can't use it too. I thought this extension does some cookie stuff to change default account but no luck. Can't set my default account, it just closes popup after I click.

  • (2022-03-31) Steven Catan: You do not know how much this add-on means to me LMAO, it increases productivity up by a lot, saying as college student, having so much accounts and trying to juggle with them is a hassle but this extension helps me ALOT.
  • (2022-03-30) Exequiel Goapper: In Spanish keyboard layouts, that shortcut is used by the system to write the at and hashtag symbol. How can I change the shortcut?
  • (2022-03-18) Ben Kolesar: This is great! Could you add support for Google Finance?
  • (2022-02-24) Bojan Savic: This is a life-saver! I was a little worried about the permissions required (ps maybe make it possible to restrict these) but after researching the publisher and validating that this is actually their app I've concluded it's legit and safe.
  • (2022-01-12) Mohammed Sabri: excelent!!!
  • (2021-12-02) Marcel Verstraete: This is great. Wish I would have found it sooner. I have a chromebook and the default login is my personal, but I'm using it for work all the time, so I have to constantly switch to that google account in the browser. This fixes that. Yay! TY! Download it. You won't be disappointed.

  • (2021-09-30) Jaddancel: Works well with Google Meet. For the first time I've finally found something that made me ease my way on attending my meeting! Good job devs!
  • (2021-08-17) ALIF 459: works as intended... and why is this not a default feature already
  • (2021-08-09) DOT: Thank you Thank you!!! This is saving me from having to sign out of all accounts just to change the default account. It also fixes the problem of not being able to access some Google services even if a user switches to their personal Google account, just because their default account is an organization account (e.g. school accounts) that blocks the user from using the said service.
  • (2021-08-09) Fiddler OnTheNet: This is exactly what I was looking for. Switching accounts every time I switched services was very tedious. This extension has worked perfectly so far. I did see on Stack Exchange that it was stated in June that you can "check the source code". Is this open source? If so, awesome! Where can I see the source code? Also, can you please add YouTube as a selectable service?
  • (2021-07-14) mayz945: Good job guys. This is a daily headache for me.

  • (2022-09-24, v:1.11) Hubert H: Deactivate global default account
I'm on macOS and have saved multiple Gmail accounts as apps using "(three dots) > More Tools > Create Shortcut (Open as Window)". I manipulated the start url of the manifest file, so that a specific app always opens a fixed mail address: https://mail.google.com/[email protected] And because there is a global default account set in the settings of the extension, it now always opens this account, and not the one I specified using the URL above. So my suggestions would be, to make the global default account optional. This way I could exclude Gmail from the list. Thank you!
  • (2022-09-11, v:1.11) Fiddler OnTheNet: Too many redirects
I set up a rule to switch to another Google account when using Google Photos. This worked for a long time, but as of a couple days ago, I get a "Too Many Redirects" error unless I remove that rule. It appears that upon loading photos.google.com with the extension active, a redirect loop is happening.
  • (2022-08-31, v:1.11) Nuno B.: Youtube
Would it be possible to to include Youtube (also google account) in the list of services?
  • (2022-08-29, v:1.11) Pierre Mavro (Deimosfr): Not working anymore
Hi, the extension do not detect anymore my Google accounts. Used this for months now and recently it do not works anymore. The "Select a default account for all Google services" is empty. I've uninstalled the extension, re-installed it, close/open the browser, same stuff. Is there anything I missed? Thanks in advance
  • (2022-07-21, v:1.9) Chad Leonard: Add Google Service - Google Search Console
Do you mind adding one additional Google service? We would LOVE to see Google Search Console added to the list.
  • (2022-07-21, v:1.9) Hjalmar Sköldefors: Google tagmanageer
Hi! I love this plugin! Any plans to add support for tagmanager.google.com?
  • (2022-06-17, v:1.9) Matty Strickler: Can't add accounts
Can't add google accounts beyond the two that it initially recognized.
  • (2022-05-07, v:1.9) Bud Kynd: Adding additional accounts
Ive added the extension on 2 different chrome profile browsers. I am not able to add additional account into either. I don't see where additional google accounts can be added.
  • (2022-04-12, v:1.9) Dustin Krysak: URL matching
It would be great if there was a way to match on a URL vs a service. For example, I use a gmail notification extension for multiple accounts, where clicking the account name takes you to that mailbox. However, your extension grabs all gmail URLs, not just the main one that does not specify a user. So the proposed idea is that if there is a gmail URL that has a user id specified, it should still go to the original URL. IE - https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/ or https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/ should still go as specified whereas anything without "/u/[account #]" should be redirected as the default specifies. Thank you.
  • (2022-03-22, v:1.9) Alex Simonescu: How to customize the "Option (Alt) + {num}"
In Spanish keyboard layouts, that shortcut is used by the system to write the at and hashtag symbol. How can I change the shortcut?
  • (2022-01-26, v:1.9) Amanda bgrthnthsnd (Bigger Than The Sound): Google Search
How do I set the account for the google search page? I have account A for all my email, cal, drive etc but I want account B for searching (adding film/tv to watch list). Even setting account B as the default (and making rules for account A) I'm still seeing account A as the default for google search.

not opening google classroom by default account, where as i rule this site
  • (2021-07-23, v:1.8) Deven T. Corzine: Google Workspace account-specific mail bookmarks broken
For the sake of this example, let's pretend this is the situation: 1. Logged into "[email protected]" as the first Google account. (/u/0) 2. Logged into "[email protected]" as the second Google account. (/u/1) 3. Logged into Google Workspace account "[email protected]" as the third Google account. (/u/2) 4. The "Default Google Account" addon is configured with "[email protected]" (/u/1) as the default for all Google services. Without the addon enabled, the following series of redirects works as intended, going to the mailbox for "[email protected]": https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/user/ -> https://mail.google.com/mail/u/2/user/ -> https://mail.google.com/mail/u/2/ With the addon enabled, I'm seeing this sequence instead: https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/user/ -> https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/user/?authuser=1 -> https://mail.google.com/mail/u/2/user/?authuser=1 -> https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/user/?authuser=1 -> https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/user/ -> https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/ This now ends up in the mailbox for "[email protected]", not "[email protected]" as it should. Can you fix the addon so the correct account number doesn't get overridden with the wrong one like this? (If there were a GitHub repository with the source code for this addon, I'd submit GitHub issues and pull requests instead of posting here...)
  • (2021-07-06, v:1.6) Deven T. Corzine: Source code?
Where is the source code? Could you put it on GitHub?
  • (2021-07-06, v:1.6) Deven T. Corzine: Allow shared profiles?
Can you make it optional to switch to a different profile, allowing different default accounts for specific Google products while sharing the same Google Chrome profile?
