Create highlights from any webpage and sync directly to your Readwise account.

Readwise Highlighter (Community) is a simple highlight creator extension for your Readwise account. Now you are not restricted by highlight sources Readwise supports syncing from, and can create highlights from any online webpage text you want.
Simply do the following to create a new highlight and send it automatically to your Readwise account:
1. Install extension.
2. Click on extension in the browser bar, enter your Readwise access token (use the link on the extension to get your token), and click save.
3. Highlight any text on any webpage and right click the highlighted area.
4. Select one of the menu options to automatically send the highlighted text to your Readwise account as a highlight.
**Updates**
* Added "Create Highlight" option to edit the attributes of a highlight before sending it to Readwise. The original highlight creation is now labelled "Create Quick Highlight".

However, it often complains that the API key isn't saved but when I open the options, there it is. Usually just clicking Save again fixes it but not always. I would prefer not to have to do this ever, obviously.

There's no better way to get your web highlights from almost anywhere into one place (Obsidian, Evernote, etc). Readwise takes care of the middleware integrations, but also provides an excellent tool on its own! This is fantastic.

I see the same issue of the Access Token not being able to be saved going back to June 2021. So have to assume that the developer has abandoned this extension. - (2022-07-10, v:1.6) Michael Furo: Readwise token does not save.
This looks like a fantastic extension, but does not allow me to try it out. After pasting in the Readwise token and clicking "save" nothing happens. I do get a Chrome notification that says "Your new token has been verified to be valid and saved." However, the extension is not functioning. Hi, I used your plugin before, and it's great. However, I had to install it new and it does not work. It's not possible to save the readwise token. Have you any idea how to fix this?
