If you already had some YouTube page open before the extension was installed, a page refresh might be needed.
Ads skip is an adblocker for youtube made for Chrome browser to block all ads that are appearing on start when watching tube videos. Also works on other websites and blocks pre-rolls where it possible.
Now just get this cool app and enjoy millions of free music and videos!
Glad to note that skip ads for youtube work both full screen or floating popup window mode as you wish.
Without the extension:
Before or during the playback of the youtube video, video ads can be shown. These ads can be closed with the skip ad or skip ads buttons that are displayed after 5 seconds. And so, you not only need to step in, but also wait for the buttons to appear. A different kind of ads can be video overlay ads that can be closed with the X button, or column ads that cannot be closed.
With the extension:
Skip ads will look for the skip ad or skip ads buttons, and click them automatically to close the video ads for you. Although the buttons are displayed after 5 seconds, they are already prepared and extensions can click them to close the ads quickly. Video overlay ads, and column ads, will be hidden.

- (2024-08-19) Sam Sambrook: Works, but hijacks google search results replacing urls with links to edmitad.com. Blatant malware and reported as the same to Google and the authorities.

- (2024-08-03) Alphytodia Pratama: Hi! Please give your extension an update, because around a month ago your extension detected by youtube and now it wouldn't even skipped any ads, so you might check this one out because this extension really keeps my sanity for maybe almost half a year now. Thank you
- (2024-07-31) Len Nguyen: It was detected to be ad bock and do not show watching video. Please update it.
- (2024-07-30) Paolo Pancaldi: I'm a developer too, I was developing a project similar to yours, in the middle of the development I said to myself: "maybe someone has already done this?" and here it is! I would have simply let the ad play with the volume muted (in your project a few seconds you can hear the spot, I suggest you implement it anyway) and then automatically pressed the skip button as soon as possible, anyway great work, thanks
- (2024-07-12) Melih Ünlü: We need an update guys, youtube can let me hear its annoying ads lately. I love you because you save me from annoying voices, while I just try to get peace, and let the content creator gets his/her benefit from ads at the same time.
- (2024-06-30) Lukas Best: Generally worked well but seems to add an automated redirect to a "r.srvtrck.com"-Website to links from Google searches and other places. Once I deactivate the extension, the redirects don't happen anymore. This is not mentioned anywhere which I find very concerning since I don't want my data being used for marketing purposes and other stuff without me knowing it. I will uninstall the extension.
- (2024-06-29) C Bartlett: Adds extra ads, doesn't auto click skip for you as of 6/29/24
- (2024-06-26) Jyoti Shankar: The extension works, but it adds adware to Google search results. It changes some Google links to start with "https://edmitad.com/newapi/click/" and adds a small icon. The creator likely earns money from these adware links. Contrary to the claim above, YouTube does detect this ad skipper.
- (2024-06-24) Heather D: This extension did nothing.
- (2024-06-24) Emmy Caddel: tysm i dont know if it was a bug or not but i got two 1 min unskippable ads every single video and this was exactly what i was looking for TY!!
- (2024-06-24) Athala Reksa: you saved my life
- (2024-06-22) Rodolfo B. Blackwell: Considering what kind of advertising YouTube shows, they should pay us for this nonsense that we see
- (2024-06-22) Wanda Keefer: Very handy extension! Love it!❤️
- (2024-06-20) Lamont Elliott: recently started hijacking google search results redirecting links to edmitad.com . . .
- (2024-06-20) Daniel Weingarden: DO NOT RECOMMEND - It was hijacking my Google search results and inserting ad links
- (2024-06-19) Vincent: not working on youtube
- (2024-06-14) Ankit Yadav: HELPFUL
- (2024-06-13) Sohamali Abbey: So far so good! Not a single ad played :) Making studying so much quicker.
- (2024-06-13) Georges Tippols: Very effective ADBLOCK . Its working and I like it and then no ads is on youtube!
- (2024-06-13) Chit Par Ko: I've decided to support this extension, which I've been using for over a year. It still works well for me, blocking ads effectively. Yes, it occasionally freezes, but a quick page reload always fixes it. I find the negative reviews about the extension not working to be questionable. Good luck to the developer! I hope they continue to adapt to changes on YouTube, providing us with a great, functional product.
- (2024-06-12) Max Ime: not that it's a bad extension, but it doesn't work anymore on that POS YT showing the infamous adblocker violates tos
- (2024-06-12) Sagan: It works fine & just as intended, but be careful because this extension **will track you** when it's allowed on all sites. It appears that when you search something in Google and the results contain the word "support" (Example: ` dell.com/support `) you'll see a subtle dollar sign icon thing to the left of the title and clicking on the result will make an API request to ` edmitad.com `. To get rid of this, go to "chrome://extensions/" then "Skip Ad - Ad Block & Auto Ad Skip on YouTube" then "Site access" then change the dropdown from "On all sites" to "On specific sites" and add `https://youtube.com/*`.
- (2024-06-11) hippo potamus: Doesnt work. My old blocker suddenly stopped working and this is the 5th one Ive tried. NONE work now. Maybe code changed on YT but ads autoplay, page refresh new ad plays again, have to let it finish to watch the video. LAME!!
- (2024-06-09) sesh: every other adblock is detected. even tampermonkey scripts are broken.. this is the only adblock that works
- (2024-06-08) J acked: Awesome, just wish I could get it for the tv as well.
- (2024-06-07) Amazing Global (Champsurfer): Thank you dev. This is the best and most simple ad remover extension out there! Thank you Cynthia. It is simple and elegant and quite frankly, brilliant! What a wonderful job. Now I can enjoy my youtube viewing. Much appreciated and I give a 5 STAR Rating.... Excellent ! Addition : As of June 2024 YouTube has reflagged adblocker like this and I hope that you guys can find a way around their pathetic attempt to enforce irregular useless ads. They should not interrupt their videos, instead maybe use a side panel to show ads. This is just a suggestion which is not overly invasive.
