The SignUp Google Chrome Extension overlays American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL) and Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation on the streaming platforms, Disney+ and Netflix, for more accessible captioning. It is a media-accessibility tool as well as a learning tool for students of sign language. SignUp is a fun way for kids (and adults!) to enjoy mainstream movies.

- (2022-08-11) Katie Crofton: UPDATE: After the latest update, it's working fine now. The SignUp team has also addressed syncing issues with the timing, and that's working better now too. The extension is a good idea and works great up until the most important part: the actual ASL captions video. After I've loaded a movie and selected button to load the captions, it enters an endless "loading, please wait" cycle. The ASL captions never actually load, no matter how long you leave it to load. I left it loading for 3 hours, and they never appeared. I'm not sure if it's an incompatibility issue with the latest version of chrome, but it didn't work on Disney+ or Netflix at all, regardless of the movie, and I know it wasn't the streaming service's fault because the movies would load and play perfectly. The ASL captions just never loaded.

Our family typically watches Disney+ or Netflix through our PS4 is there a way that the sign captions can be viewed through this method? We do have a Chromecast as well but this is not our usual way of viewing these channels. - (2022-08-28, v:1.2.0) Jordan Apgar: Can't resize window

Hello, I have messaged numerous times before. I have yet to be able to use sign up captions on Disney+. I type this through tears. I just want to have the access for my daughter to watch the videos like everyone else who has had success. I went an purchased a new laptop today thinking the other 3 laptops I have attempted to use have been defective. A NEW laptop and it is still not working. Please help. Everytime I attempt to use the extension it shows "Play the movie to initiate captions." I have sent videos before showing how this is the error message that pops up. I don't know what I am doing incorrectly and I have not received any helpful information. I have tried to start the caption at 0:00 as someone suggested. I have installed and removed and reinstalled. I have made sure the chrome is the most updated version. I have purchased a NEW chromebook, specifically for this purpose. Specifically for chrome thinking that would make the chrome extension work. with no success. I am sad. I am frustrated. I am hoping for assistance and a solution.
