Allows teachers and students to leave voice notes and feedback on Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Docs, Slides, Forms, and Sheets.
Beep is a voice feedback Chrome Extension that allows you to record and listen to voice notes and audio comments all within Google Classroom, Google Docs, and Gmail.
You never need to leave Google Classroom, Google Docs, or Gmail to record and play the voice notes. Easily replicate one of the most essential parts of the in-person in-classroom experience in a remote learning setting - it's the missing piece in digital education.
🤔 Why voice feedback?
Voice feedback can take the friendliness and ease of in person feedback without the logistics of in person meetings and without the difficult and time consuming work of writing pitch-perfect feedback. It's a great tool for bridging the gap in "distance learning" and "remote teaching."
⚙️ How it works?
For Google Classroom
1. Install the Chrome Extension above.
2. Visit Google Classroom.
3. Click the voice note button under posts or voice comment button in comments to record voice notes.
For Google Docs
1. Install the Chrome Extension above.
2. Visit Google Docs.
3. Highlight text on a doc.
4. Click comment button to the right.
5. Click the "voice comment" button.
For Gmail
1. Install the Chrome Extension above.
2. Visit Gmail.
3. Click the red microphone button to the right of the send button.
If your students and fellow teachers have Beep for Google Classroom for installed as well, all your recording links will automatically be converted into embedded players so they don't need to open a new window.

- I recently started using "Beep," and I can already see how it is going to transform how I give feedback on student work. Simply put: it's so much faster. Instead of typing my comments, I can just record them. It definitely saves time-- and when you have forty-five assignments to grade, being able to shave off a few minutes for each one is definitely a game-changer. I would absolutely recommend "Beep" for all educators.

- As an English teacher that uses Google Class for drafts, this extension has been a game changer! I can leave more nuanced, complex, verbal feedback for sections of the draft, that would be harder to communicate in text alone. - Not as good of an integration as talk and comment (love the floating mic in that app) but a nice solution. I do notice I am getting a lot of background whooshing noise from this app which never happened in talk and comment (same laptop and hardware). Overall it is very workable although a few more clicks than the now defunct talk and comment. I hope that google buys up one of these very lucky companies and makes these people very rich with a built in solution and paying people well for their creative work.

- So far, I am loving beep. It is making it so much easier for me to leave feedback on assignments here. My only complaint is I couldn't write this review with beep. I love the fact that I can leave my own voice and can I quickly talk my way through where this unit needs to grow on assignments anyways if you are a Google classroom user I highly recommend that you utilize this tool. Hope this makes sense. I used dictation to write this.

- Beep is an excellent chrome extension. I use it myself and have introduced it to my learners. I teach French to adults, so they can return their reading and speaking tasks by recording themselves via Google classroom. I would suggest however, if you could get it to work on Pdf and PowerPoint and also to extend the recording time to up to 5 minutes instead of 3 minutes.
