REQUIRED PERMISSIONS
————————————————————

You may consult the list of permissions and the reason why they are required on the product page: https://www.oinkandstuff.com/project/web-for-android-messages/#permissions

"notifications" - Used to send desktop notification. For example when a new message arrive or App is updated.
"contextMenus" - Allow to add more settings when right click in the App icon in the browser toolbar and browser context menu.
"storage" - Used to save settings on your local computer.
"unlimitedStorage" - Storage is limited to 5MB of data that may not be enough to store all configs.
"webRequest" & "webRequestBlocking" - Used to intercept some requests and modify x-frame-options or user-agent in order to provide you the mobile/smartphone version of the app (lighter, faster, less internet consumption and run as Sidebar) and also run the webpage in a background iframe (so that you can have real-time silent notifications in the App icon on the browser toolbar as a badge counter).
"<all_urls>" - We cannot predict ahead of time witch hosts/domains we must modify in order to provide the desired functionality detailed in the webRequest permission. It also allows that you can share content (links or text) from other pages directly to inside the App and send it as a SMS/Android message to a friend for example. Also used to allow intercommunication with other oinkandstuff Apps (i.e. Emoji Keyboard).

Vasco
It's updated with latest google endpoints!
Gary
Useless for LG phones, as they do not allow tethering via USB or Bluetooth.
Stu
Great except the whole point of using it is to get notified of a text message when you're on the PC.
Bo
Works badly on Edge, askes for Chrome update, open sometimes fine but many times ask for Chrome update even if it's the latest Chrome version on the PC. Will wait for a few updates before using it again.

This extension was beyond my expectations till today. Today, after the last update of Edge, it does not work anymore. :( I see only white screen with the toolbar on the top.

Works pretty well but not sure what the advantage of this extension is over just having a tab in your browser. I was hoping the extension would give me a notification without having to have the popup open but it will not.

No funciona, me dice: Estás utilizando una versión obsoleta de tu navegador web. Y es Edge Chromium.

Worked PERFECTLY with my Android smartphone and Windows 10 OS Edge browser (from the Microsoft Store) and app. However, when the Edge/Chromium collaboration updated the app disappeared and so updating it to the latest OinkAndStuff.com extension restored and enhanced the messaging app to its latest and greatest operability. Highly recommended (even though you may use YourPhone on Windows 10).

1 star = omg, utter **** 2 star = meh, plz 3 star = OK 4 star = almost there, just polish 5 star = omg, utter bliss (rare) Ok for now, but definitely better than meh. Tried on Firefox set to "strict" first, but then restructured my opsec profile towards vertical surveillance threat containment, negating cross-competitive contamination of involuntary online profile integration ~ waaaah! Could have probably made $5k with that sentence alone ; ) Firefox on strict privacy settings didn't really like Oink truffling around its mushy nether-regions, and continually refused to co-operate fully. Running various other security apps too, so possibly not a fair test, heh-heh-heh. News that Edge had grabbed 2nd place in the browser market as of 20200404 makes the Microsoft Browser an obvious second choice for testing. Much happier here. Like Firefox, installed no worries. QR scan still a bit buggy, and sometimes crashes, but worth effort for desktop access ~ thumb warriors stand down!
