Description from store This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colors, making web pages high contrast and easier to read at night. You can adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences, choose between dark mode and screen shader mode, and enable or disable the extension for specific websites. Dark Reader Plus unlocks a premium user interface with customizable color themes for a fee. (2025-07-20) Ron: Those who are complaining about Dark Reader not working, are most likely referring to Google Maps default layer, and the "Dynamic" filter. When Dark Reader activated with the Dynamic filter, for some reason, the Edge extension version 4.9.108, doesn't actually darken the map ...while the Chrome version 4.9.110 behaves like before and actually darkens the map. (2025-07-14) Gregory: I've used this for years, even paid the fee. It stopped working on Edge. Paid again. No positive results. I love this program, but beware.

I have my screen on bright because I have a privacy screen but having a 17" light in from my eyes was annoying. Dark Reader does exactly what I need, and I HIGHLY recommend this if you want to be able to go from a YouTube video to LinkedIn without needing sunglasses!
