Privacy Badger automatically learns to block invisible trackers.

Description from store Privacy Badger automatically learns to block invisible trackers. Instead of keeping lists of what to block, Privacy Badger automatically discovers trackers based on their behavior. Privacy Badger sends the Global Privacy Control signal (https://globalprivacycontrol.org/) to opt you out of data sharing and selling, and the Do Not Track signal (https://www.eff.org/issues/do-not-track) to tell companies not to track you. If trackers ignore your wishes, Privacy Badger will learn to block them. Besides automatic tracker blocking, Privacy Badger replaces potentially useful trackers (video players, comments widgets, etc.) with click-to-activate placeholders, and removes outgoing link click tracking on Facebook and Google, with more privacy protections on the way. (2024-07-16) G: BOBBY uninstall and reinstall. I have been using Privacy Badger since their inception. This was the only "one off" that I can remember ever incurring for the Badger. Give it another try.

This cuts out all that advertising BS you have skillfully learned to ignore, so you can focus on the content you really wanted to see. Bye bye clickbait advertising, and if something "breaks", then it's super easy to turn off for one site, or even adjust as necessary. No real skill required. The EFF is a super legit foundation at the forefront of internet security and privacy, so there's nothing to hesitate when thinking about installing an ad blocker, especially since it's so much more than that.

(2022-11-20) Dawne: As someone who has been in IT for 25+ years and has been a Snr Engineer for at least 18 of them, I can say unabashedly that this is the best privacy tool out there. I combine this with Ghostery, as well as Ad Guard on all my browsers now. I thought just Ghostery would be fine, but there are always those sites that just sleep through the cracks... Not to mention the fact that even though you explicitly set your browser to "Do Not track" and to block 3rd party cookies, many, if not most, sites just ignore those items. Or state, "you have to have this one cookie in order for us to respect the not to track request.:" (rolling eyes) Thank God for this app/extension and the work they have done. Because of Privacy Badger your browsing on the web became safer from unwanted nosy sites. Bravo.

(2021-12-29) Thomas: Menu of blocked trackers and its learning curve are not impressive. Doesn't matter which browser I use, CCleaner always finds at least three figures of "trackers" to remove. Anyone know of a "tracker" blocker that actually works?

(2021-10-13) Tony: Been using this for years in FF and Chrome and it's wonderful. Recently started having a problem though in Edge where the UI for the extension will no longer work. Not sure what is going on or if anyone else has had this problem, but uninstall/reinstall of the extension fixes it until it happens again.

(2020-11-22) Micheal: I really like the idea of being able to control who is watching me while I'm browsing, especially after being the victim of identity theft a few years ago. As a side benefit, blocking trackers makes pages feel more responsive. It's possibly the best extension I have ever used.

(2020-06-16) Austin: Great extension and highly recommended. However if you use programs like 'Lightshot' and use Gmail to login, this extension will prevent you from doing so. You will need to deactivate it until sign-in is completed. Not sure if it affects other Google Sign-In sites as well.
