• (2024-09-24) Henry: Over the course of three years in post-secondary education, this extension has been the source of immense headache for me, my fellow students, and professors. Every exam I have taken via Proctorio has either resulted in my attempt becoming void or the program not working entirely. It is my belief that this extension fails to accurately detect cheating (its sole purpose) and should not be included in any educational setting.

I TRIED TO GET IN CONTACT WITH HELPDESK SUPPORT, COULD NOT GET INTO THE CHAT, I CALLED BOTH NUMBERS THEY HAVE LISTED THE 844 NUMBER JUST RANG ONE TIME THEN COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED, THE 813 NUYMBER LISTED, GOES TO VOICEMAIL, I LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES, NO RESPONSE. THIS IS A COMPLETE JOKE AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. HORRIBLE APP, HORRIBLE SUPPORT, ALL HORRIBLE, DO NOT USE THIS APP IT SUCKS. PROCTORIO OWES ME SOME MONEY BECAUSE THIS APP HAS CAUSED ME TO FAIL MY EXAM, NOW I WILL LIKELY NOT GET CREDIT. THE CLASS I WAS TAKING THE EXAM FOR IS LITERALLY THE LAST CLASS I NEED FOR MY DEGREE. • (2024-02-27) Bryce: To any professor who plans on using this do NOT it is awful for your students. I tried to take my test using it and it would kick me from the test for the dumbest reasons like scratching my eye. Midterms and Exams should be taken in person not online this is not going to be what fixes that problem for online classes. It will only make your students frustrated. it also logs you out of all of your accounts when you are kicked from a test, so you have to re-login to everything after getting kicked to retake the class. on a canvas-based test, the test time limit will continue even after you are kicked so you will lose time for getting kicked as you re-login to do your test.

It did not specify why, nor did it let me restart after trying to follow their troubleshooting advice. One of the instructions was to do a live chat with support, but it wouldn't let me. The only other option it was giving was to send an email and hope for a response before my timed exam was over. HA! What a joke!

I changed the settings because I do not feel like this "add-on" should have all the access that it is asking for. I allow it access to the websites it should (school and the workbook website) but it still is not working. The "please wait while we prepare your exam" has been preparing the exam for over 30 minutes and it is still preparing. Who came up with this? Please take it back and never use it again. AND my exam is still loading. 35 minutes later.
