- May 2025, Do not believe the number of users microsoft says has this extension. It currently says 300,000+. It has said this for months. I have personally installed this extension on hundreds of computers and that number has not changed. And microsoft will constantly ask to disable the extension, tricking the user to reset their settings for best experience. Microsoft wants you to get to the msn or bing website so bad. Note that you have to install this extension. Then go to your Settings, Extensions, and Turn On this extension. Then open up a new tab, and theres a popup saying Is This The New Tab You Expected, and there click Keep Changes. Finally you have gone through microsofts tricks to enable this extension. In June 2025, the number finally went up to 400,000 users In August 2025, the number has now gone back down to 300,00 users September 2025, the number has now gone back to 400,000 users.

- I reviewed this on May 16, 2025 stating the user count was stuck at 300,000. On June 26, 2025 I notice the user count has now been updated to 400,000. Keep rocking.

- Still works fine, even though it hasn't been updated in 5 years. Tested searching in the omnibar as well as the search bar in the new tab page, neither one went to MaxAsk,com, previous reviewer may be having some other issue. The code is hosted on GitHub, available by clicking the developer name on this page. I did a search through all the extension files and the GitHub site for MaxAsk and found nothing. Looking at the code, it replaces the New Tab page with an index.html file that redirects to google.com.

- Funktioniert einwandfrei. Nach einem Update wurde mir Bing wieder draufgespielt. Manuelles deaktivieren ging nicht, vermutlich von Microsoft so gewollt.

- The only complaint I have is that it seems the shortcuts you have underneath the search bar in chrome's 'new tab page' do not show up with this extension; it's just the plain search bar.

- Amazing that Microsoft tells us we should use Edge because it's like Chrome but "from MS so you can trust us" when they have basically designed Edge to be nothing more than a click-bait browser for their MSN ****, and then don't let you change the default tab setting, and the default DISABLE any plug-in that tries to override this. THIS IS WHY WE DON'T TRUST YOU, MICROSOFT!

- The problem with this extension: each time you open a new tab, the extension "takes over" the address bar and manually types in Google's URL. This causes a huge issue, because most former Chrome users are used to opening a new tab, typing in a search query, and pressing enter to search for it. This extension interrupts that - the first few letters of your search get "eaten" by the extension manually entering the Google URL, lol. What you actually want is another extension on the Edge Add-ons store called "Custom New Tab" by maltejur. I've tested it, and if you use that extension and set the URL to Google, the issue I described above doesn't happen. Hope this helps someone! :)

- Google new tab my butthole. All this does it load google.com something i could have had edge do on its own. It doesn't have my links and other google new tab features like custom background etc.
