  • (2024-11-13) nate: >search for something via search bar >extension blocks the google search >redirects google search with "MaxAsk.com" search >looks like google, but everything looks off >turn off this extension and everything is back to normal
  • (2024-11-10) Mary: The only complaint I have is that it seems the shortcuts you have underneath the search bar in chrome's 'new tab page' do not show up with this extension; it's just the plain search bar.
  • (2024-10-12) Eddie: A serious must have if you welcome a distraction free environment from the MSN tabloid.
  • (2024-08-20) Jeff: Great extension. Just works.
  • (2024-07-23) Jeffrey: Thank you!!
  • (2024-06-25) Nicolas: Thanks works great. It's a shame Microsoft does not allow to do this natively, but I'm not surprised.
  • (2024-05-16) Colton: Thank you for the add on! Frustrating that this is necessary in the first place
  • (2024-03-08) Conner: Simple, works, and doesn't have any unnecessary permissions required.
  • (2024-03-05) Marget: I hope all is well with you. I'm currently exploring avenues to enhance my business portfolio through strategic investments in Chrome extensions, and I've been particularly impressed with yours. I believe there's a tremendous opportunity for growth and would love to discuss the possibility of acquisition. • (2024-02-19) Kevin: Microsoft, stop being a bully. Thank you to the developer for the addon!
  • (2024-01-06) Rafael: funciona muito bem
  • (2023-12-01) Michael: Thank you for this!! The default Bing page was killing me, and even a blank white page would have been an improvement.
  • (2023-11-21) Jimi: You would think a company that wants you to use its browser wouldn't force you to use an extension to do something so simple as get rid of the Bing SPAM. Other than that the browser is pretty good.
  • (2023-11-13) Cameron: All I need. Can't believe this is what it takes
  • (2023-11-06) Junhan: Simple, Works. That is all we ask. Unlike some MS BS
  • (2023-10-04) Chris: Total garbage that MS forces you to use their garbage homepage when opening new tabs. This is an easy workaround, but even finding this was a pain.
  • (2023-02-18) John: Works great
  • (2022-11-24) Jonathan: Amazing that Microsoft tells us we should use Edge because it's like Chrome but "from MS so you can trust us" when they have basically designed Edge to be nothing more than a click-bait browser for their MSN ****, and then don't let you change the default tab setting, and the default DISABLE any plug-in that tries to override this. THIS IS WHY WE DON'T TRUST YOU, MICROSOFT!
  • (2022-11-16) Z: Thank you! MS has no idea what the customers want.
  • (2022-02-28) Nick: The problem with this extension: each time you open a new tab, the extension "takes over" the address bar and manually types in Google's URL. This causes a huge issue, because most former Chrome users are used to opening a new tab, typing in a search query, and pressing enter to search for it. This extension interrupts that - the first few letters of your search get "eaten" by the extension manually entering the Google URL, lol. What you actually want is another extension on the Edge Add-ons store called "Custom New Tab" by maltejur. I've tested it, and if you use that extension and set the URL to Google, the issue I described above doesn't happen. Hope this helps someone! :)
  • (2022-01-29) Carl: no problem now
  • (2021-12-18) Patricia: It works but as a last step go to settings then Extensions to turn the new google tab on.
  • (2021-12-03) Axl: Does exactly what it says. Kind of sad that we need an extension to change this. Faith and her butthole were wrong that she can change this in Microsoft edge without the extension.
  • (2021-11-12) Faith: Google new tab my butthole. All this does it load google.com something i could have had edge do on its own. It doesn't have my links and other google new tab features like custom background etc.
  • (2021-10-19) Nancy: Was good until: the latest updates for windows and edge, google tab is now grayed out and doesn't work. Even if you remove it and add it back. I hate Edge for so many of their stupid sh*t.
  • (2021-09-26) Jason: Microsoft disables this extension as soon as you install it. You need to go into extension manager to re-enable it.
  • (2021-09-19) Tareck: Unlike other "new tab page" modifiers, this extension does not need the permission to read and change your data on websites. This is secure, and it takes you to Google HP right away. Great extension, yet simple. Now I don't have to see pesky ads whenever I open Edge.
  • (2021-09-09) McBryde,: Its so cute that Microsoft thinks they have search engine, install this and get on with your day....
  • (2021-08-17) Joshua: Funny how Microsoft automatically tries to disable Google's search engine as soon as you download this
  • (2021-08-15) Adam: This is what people are missing....😂
  • (2021-08-11) Michael: Funktioniert einwandfrei, tolle Erweiterung ...
  • (2021-08-09) Vibert,: Just what I was looking for!
  • (2021-07-19) Rob: Thank you! Microsoft doesn't understand that we don't want BING. I was about to BING my way to a MacBook if I couldn't find a solution to this problem. You can upgrade Windows 10 for free but lookout you are now forced into our ad-based products and services (an awful business model). Microsoft should pay you for saving their company. There's a movement growing and they about to see a mass exodus if they don't give us customers options to modify our preferences.
  • (2021-07-07) terrence: Not that I think Google is perfect, but Microsoft is RELENTLESS in shoving their POS search (Bing) down my throat. I can't fathom why these morons think that's a good business strategy: purposely fostering such resentment amongst a massive population of otherwise ambivalent paying users of their mediocre products.
  • (2021-06-03) Evan: I originally didn't mind the NEW new tab page, but in traditonal Microsoft fashion, that didn't stay functional for long. There were quite a few interesting articles and headlines in there, only made better by the fact that you could change what you're interested in. Once Windows 10 Home users lost any and all forms of customization, it became an ad-filled minefield of clickbait and useless, trashy articles (that can no longer be sifted out, as blocking specific sources was removed). Even on Windows 10 Pro, it isn't much better. To make matters worse, even though Edge made a lot of improvements recently, bringing back some of the better features from browsers as far back as IE8 (notably the return of the option to open downloads without actually saving them), one of the major downsides is the inability to change new tab pages at all, not even a blank page anymore. You're forced to use the now-awful "news" tiles. That is, until I found this marvelous extension! It works perfectly!
  • (2021-05-29) James: Love it! Bing stinks; Google rules!
  • (2021-05-08) William: I know Microsoft is trying in canary builds to reverse this.
  • (2021-03-29) Bobby: Thanks for making this! A request, is it possible to have the new Google tab focus on the URL bar as opposed to the search bar?
  • (2021-01-22) Nicholas: Good tab works well. But come on MS, add this functionality into the browser.
  • (2021-01-06) Davis: Yeah, I hear ya' - it's a pain to have to do this at all. Users should be able to select whatever they want on their start and new tab pages. However, I am relieved & thankful for fridlev's effort here. Extension works flawlessly. Now if we could prod you to do so, how about a duckduckgo New Tab Page? Many thanks.
  • (2020-12-29) Richard: Easy addon to use. Extreme time-waste to discover that it's necessary. This may be the ONE reason I go back to CHROME. Depending on how long I remain pissed off at MSFT for this BS stunt.
  • (2020-12-27) STEPHEN: It is total bull sh*t that you have to download an extension to change the new tab page. What a sham by Microsoft to make us use Bing. Shame on them.
  • (2020-11-20) Alex: It worked well. One suggestion - when you open a new tab, can you place a cursor to the URL window instead of Search box? Or at least give an option to do it.
  • (2020-11-03) Paul: Unfortunately, not a surprise that this option is not built in to Edge, but at least MS allows the extension in their store. How about the option to allow ANY page of choice?
  • (2020-10-30) Dacie: Awesome! Glad to have Google back to the default page when I open a new tab!
  • (2020-08-26) K: Gives back the control.
  • (2020-07-31) Philip: Thank you what a great product
  • (2020-06-09) andrei: Love it. This just get out p.o.s. bing. Microsoft should realize no one like their search engine, and there is a reason for that.... Bing is horrible if you looking for something will never found there. This add on change my new tab to Google search and this is perfect.
  • (2020-05-12) Philip: As of 5/12/2020, it works. It's really dumb Microsoft removed a custom new tab, but this helps. Just press the new tab button or ctrl + t and it opens google.com quickly. Works perfectly.
  • (2020-04-21) Miguel: This was grinding my gears until I found this!!!!
