Description from store
This extension helps you siphoning through that massive amount of data and distills them to useful bits of information for you to download in CSV format. This is a great tool for generating reports for your business needs.
Other existing products rely on Google's Timeline API behind the scene. Due to Google's rate limiting on the API, it may be difficult to get all the data even just across several months. This chrome extension, on the other hand, processes Google's Takeout data, so that it can easily crunch through multiple months worth or even years worth of data in one go.
By the way, it also handles timezone.
None of your location data goes through a server. Everything is processed locally in your browser to ensure your privacy.
v2.0
On December 12, 2023 Google announced that it will no longer store user's location/timeline data directly on its server. Instead, your location data will be stored directly on your device going forward. I've made changes to handle this change. One caveat is that there is an additional step to convert the place IDs to human readable addresses and names.

- (2025-04-11) Edwin Kim: Awesome extension that does exactly what I needed it to. The low reviewers never bothered to figure out how to work it. It's not the dev's fault that Google made things the way they did.
- (2025-03-25) Jennifer Maddux: I have searched high and wide for a solution to help me take my google timeline and export it into a CSV file allowing me to itemize my trips for tax purposes. This solution was reasonably priced and was effective for me. It did require my husband to setup a Google cloud account to reverse geocode lat/long into addresses. Once the API key was obtained the extension worked perfectly! Thank you for providing this service.
- (2025-03-01) Landon Brands: Big timesaver to generate accurate mileage logs. It's got a learning curve and requires a good bit of technical knowledge. Developer stands behind the product and offers fast support which is much appreciated. Thank you.
- (2025-02-18) Daniel Cuneo: It takes a little know-how to get all the Google Location API features working in 2025, but the walk-through on the official github.com/noitcudni/google-takeout-mileage-and-timeline-exporter-extension page is very thorough. And the dev answered all my questions by email in minutes.
- (2025-01-16) Matt W: Couldn't figure out how to use it with the new google timeline changes. If I'm missing something please let me know. Otherwise one star and useless.
- (2024-04-14) Mihai Marinescu: "If you've already signed up, enter your license below." Or not, good luck getting rich.
- (2024-04-07) Paul Cho: $10/mo subscription + doesn't work. Do not use.
- (2024-02-12) Carolyn Gerding: I was so excited to see that this exists - and it works exactly as it says it does. This has saved me MANY hours on my mileage calculations for my business!
- (2023-09-29) Alexis Clark: I'm a huge fan of this tool. It's a huge timesaver.

- (2023-02-25) Jennifer Ward-Batts: This is ****ing AMAZING! So easy to use, and so very useful! If you have been lax on keeping prior mileage logs but you've had Google location data turned on, you can construct those logs very easily with that data! This extension will convert all that location and time/date data into something you can use! AND I note that the annual cost of $60 is just $5 a month, which is less than mileage tracker apps. PLUS, I'm able to convert a Google location file with this extension for both me and my business partner, if I have access to his location data. With a mileage tracker app, they'll charge you for each person being tracked.

- (2022-03-22) Andrew Suderman: I had been using an extension called Mileage & Timeline Spreadsheets : Taxes/IRS and it is no longer available. This is a great alternative as it does basically the same thing. I get all my Google location data into a simple Excel file.
