This extension assists with identifying timestamps on Twitch VODs by providing a tool for searching chat comments within a VOD. The idea is that if we are looking for some topic in a VOD, chat will be talking about it -- so we can find the comments and grab the timestamp off of the comment in the VOD.

This tool supports standard search operators and regular expressions.

Known issues:

Peter Cordes 2025-08-04: Gets stuck part way through downloading the chat. Hasn't been updated since 2023; others report it was broken as early as Oct 2024, so that's about 10 months of being unmaintained and broken. :( Before it broke, was probably nice and light-weight.

Melodica Dude 2023-06-12: re-writing my whole review: This extension is one of the best there has been, and it is insane to me that a tool this useful for gathering context and finding moments in a twitch VOD is one of very few to ever serve this function and feature. I seriously cant believe no other Twitch improvement addon strives to do what this extension does because it is just that useful. I rate it 5 stars because that's the quality of what it provides. I do have to say though, that the extension breaks every few months due to updates. I don't blame the dev for this, of course, and it's not their fault that they're one person managing an extension, having to update it and wait for the updates to get approved. They have no obligation to keep this extension up to date and keep fixing it, but they do and that is very cool. There may be downtime when the extension is broken, but that's the consequence of this service being a specific, one person side project. If you're looking for an extension that allows you to comb twitch chats/VODs for context, you have found it. If it's not working at the moment, give it some time. That is all.

komp 2023-05-16: It's a great tool but it stopped working recently, it starts downloading to 0.57% then just stops and shows that it downloaded it all. Then when i search i get 0 results even if i search something i know is there. Hopefully this gets fixed

The extension becomes stuck on "Initiating vod chat extraction... You can start searching now" but then never returns any search results. It had been working perfectly up until the last couple weeks though!
