• (2023-02-22) Jason Bartlett: At first I thought Breef was a bit of a novelty, I was wrong on that! I have been using it for several weeks and it has saved many hours of searching to find related emails. With Breef I can easily group project or client emails into a bundle per project or client and find what I need to read or respond to much more quickly than I could before. If I get an email that should be in a bundle I can add it to the bundle with a couple of clicks. I have a bundle set up just for newletters and announcements - important to read but not urgent. Breef bundles all of these together in one row in the Inbox so I know where they are and I don't loose track of time sensitive emails in my Inbox. I think of it as a set and forget way of keeping focussed on the what is important now, and when I have the time I can skim through multiple messages very quickly using the feed view. Great product, highly recommened.
• (2023-02-16) Diana Hutchinson: I love how this gives me the ability to organize similar emails rather than setting up rules to sort them into folders which I might or might not actually look at. They are still visible and I am able to go through multiple similar things at one time, helping me be more efficient.
• (2023-02-15) Stelvio Gori: I've been using AIB since the start but now my flow of email is too massive to categorize everything; Breef helps a lot by grouping related messages by topic, my brain is happy and it looks that now ?im control again.
• (2023-01-31) Gabriel Bobes: Using Active Inbox since its beginnings, I wasn't sure what else could help me in my emails so I ignored the promo messages for Breef. Thank you Andy for taking the time and showing the product in depth :-) Breef it's so easy to use and helps focus on what matters first. If you see in the morning 30++ new messages and you do not know where to start, then Breef is for you. By creating simple rules instead of 30++ messages, you may end with 4-5 groups of emails. Your brain is happy and you are willing to start opening the email groups based on their importance. You will eventually end up opening all the 30++ email but effortlessly and that's the beauty of the GTD. You try it once, you will never want to remove it. BTW, it's working great next to Active Inbox. There is also a problem: I no longer like to open my gmail on my phone because I miss Breff and AI :-( It would be great if we could have a mobile version for both Breef and Active Inbox.
• (2023-01-24) Dirk Freise: Breeze helps me quit a bit to triage my emails and spend my time wisely. In my spare time I can quickly browse through all my newsletters at one place already sorted into relevant categories.
• (2023-01-23) Rachel Lavieri: The best part of this extension is how much time it saves me. I used to spend about an hour every morning sorting through my emails, trying to figure out which ones had legitimate action items versus the multitude of read-later or junk emails. (I work in Marketing and Communications, we get a LOT of junk.) Now that I can bundle them, I just click "Junk", review the subject lines to make sure it is all junk, select all, and remove from my inbox. "News" I can peruse at my leisure, which allows me to focus on the important emails: directors, co-workers, project management software notifications, financial updates, etc... I went from spending an hour checking email every morning to, at most, spending 15 minutes. That's an extra 45 minutes a day or, because I like tracking actuals, 3.75 hours per week. More than worth it.
• (2023-01-20) Julie Johnson: I keep an eye on several email groups within our company and Breef is fantastic for letting me see those emails essentially in a stack and dismiss them (archive or delete) as a stack as well, instead of onesies twosies as they come in. Saves me so much time and focus! Love it!
• (2023-01-20) Mike Haynes: I wasn't sure about the utility at first, but Breef has surprised me for sure. I have 3 school aged children with 3 different teachers. I get a bunch of emails from their teachers and school administrators every week. It gets a little hard to manage. Things were getting missed and falling through the cracks. But, not anymore! Breef automatically groups the related emails together and separates them by teacher which makes it far easier to keep track of who needs what and when. I'm sold.
• (2023-01-19) Greta Newborn: I've enjoyed Breef since day 1 of installing! I love that I can group threads into contextual bundles and see everything easily grouped together. It makes so much sense to process email this way. Breef also plays well with ActiveInbox, so between the two my inbox is very manageable! I also love that you can use the Google Material icons to add at-a-glance visual identification for bundles. I would really love if you could custom tint the color of the bundle headers. Breef is my favorite extension for Gmail!
• (2023-01-19) Dave Bechtel: Breef turned out to be sort of a "Sleeper" app. I didn't quite get how to incorporate it and use it until I spent a bit of break time playing with it's features. Bundling your email based on groups and/or projects now makes a lot of sense and it helps me track different work flows much easier than going into a manual search to look at a related contact. Using the Skim feature allows you to review a related stream of emails related to a project and it comes in handy if you are coming back to a project after a week or so.
• (2023-01-19) Beth Farrell: Breef along with Active In box has helped manage my inbox significantly. Breef helps me identify the most important emails by grouping them into buckets I identified. SUPER easy to use. Can't imagine doing email without it.
• (2023-01-19) Tim Ruder: I've been using Breef on my personal email for a while now -- setting it up to speed through emails in an organized "Feed" format is great. I'm about to turn it on for work email next. Combined with Active Inbox, Breef makes focusing and clearing email a breeze.
• (2023-01-19) Csaba Együd: I've been using Activeinbox for a long time and now I like Breef too. The first feature that caught my eye was the creation of bundles. It is a fantastic addition to my views. I often have multiple email threads with a support team or friends and it's convenient to keep them in my inbox but collapsed so I can focus on my daily job. And it looks just nice, which is also important. :)
• (2021-05-10) Sasha Torres: I use Breef to fly through my inbox and get rid of all the irritating and time-consuming detritus that collects there in about 1/3 of the time it used to take me. Then I can focus on what's actually important. It's immeasurably reduced my anxiety around the Sisyphean daily task that is email.
• (2021-04-17) Kathryn Parker: This extension really helps with separating your emails into meaningful segments. It's helped me so much in being able to track how many subscriptions I get on certain topics and to cull the ones I no longer value. I also really like the scrolling view for reading a particular category, as it lets you get up to speed quickly on relevant topical news without other things distracting from workflow. This extension is a keeper!
• (2021-04-09) Breef has solved one of my longest-standing problems with email! I'm using Breef in my professional email and it has been a game-changer for me. Not only does it easily let me divvy up all of my newsletters into categories to read through when I'm in the the right head-space it has de-cluttered my inbox in a way I never expected it to. The #1 thing I love about Breef is that it groups things, but still leaves them in my inbox and I can open/close the groups as I want to drill into them. For some background, like a lot of people I often find that email can be a real burden to keep up on, to keep organized, and to action in a meaningful way. I've read all of the tips on labelling and processing as things come in and then getting them all into my nicely organized folders (or tags) for me to look at when the time comes. Only problem was that out of sight was VERY out of mind for me every time I tried to implement something like this. I was great at setting up filters, but I was horrible at going back to things once they were out of my inbox. So, I would inevitably miss something important and have to turn off all of my filtering which left my inbox a mess again. I resigned myself to the fact that I'd have to leave things in my Inbox and keep scanning and re-scanning because that was better than forgetting about something entirely. And then came Breef. Breef has given me the ability to keep one inbox, keep it organized, and never lose things! With the way Breef groups and "hides" the various categories, I no longer forget to check things done AND my inbox is squeaky clean. In addition to newsletters I'm also able to group things like Jira ticket updates which can get noisy, but are very important for me to be on top of. Brief is not only saving at least 30-45 minutes of time for me every day it's also saving me much needed attention capital. Thank you Breef!
• (2021-03-14) Angus Burnett: Breef is amazing! I've been using it for a little while now but wanted to wait a little while before writing a review. Firstly to make sure it was long-term usefulness I was writing about and not just the novelty of the 'new'. Secondly, to make sure I was familiar with it's features. The fact that I can select emails (particularly newsletters) by subject matter and, crucially, relative usefulness to me and then let Breef organise them is great. It automatically declutters my inbox and allows me to return to those newsletters when I have time. A quick glance and I can decide whether to delete the whole lot, pick out the potentially interesting/useful ones or scroll through them is great. That brings me on to what I find is the second great feature. When I say scroll through. I mean Breef allows you to open up your inbox or any collection of emails as one long feed (in a similar way to that which social media presents posts to you). I think anybody would find this useful for the speed it gives them to go through emails but if you know the simple keyboard shortcuts that already work for Gmail, it makes sorting through your emails an absolute breeze. I can't believe nobody has ever thought of this before. Support is really quick, helpful and friendly too. Try it and I don't think you'll look back.
• (2021-03-03) Erin Reynolds: Breef has been an email game-changer for me. First, the ability to "scroll" through emails in a focused-way has made my daily email review go at least 50% faster (giving me back a few hours a week). Then, being able to compartmentalize newsletters, updates, etc. by topic/category has saved me a ton of energy and effort since I can stay in the same "head-space" when reading through my messages (i.e. sort through all my financial emails in one go, then my entertainment emails, etc.). In other words, it prevents the mental whiplash that you can sometimes feel when having to go through a messy inbox. I now use it for my personal and professional email accounts and can't imagine dealing with my inbox without it.
• (2021-03-03) Joe Nardi: I am absolutely loving this extension. It makes getting to Inbox Zero a reality every day. It's so much easier to quickly go through my emails when they are grouped together in topics, and I really love how I can archive a whole topic section with the click of one button. The scrolling review of emails is like nothing you have ever experienced before. There's no longer a need to click into each email to read. Now you just click one and scroll down to the next. This is saving me so much time and my email anxiety is at an all time low.
• (2021-03-03) Yoel Krigsman: I do enjoy the features that I can sort out my stuff out of the haystack and be able to look at my "free" time and be able to focus on other things at the other times without eye-cluttering in my inbox, and I can use the Twitter method for about 5 mins to quickly read/delete afterwards in "one-go" The twitter allows me to remain in one topic that I choose and leaves other stuff out of it - Handy solution!
