LockDown Browser for ALEKS is a custom browser that locks down the exam environment within ALEKS.
IMPORTANT: This extension only works on a Chromebook.
During an online exam, LockDown Browser will prevent you from going to other URLs, switching applications, copying questions or printing. It essentially locks you into the exam until it's submitted for grading. While LockDown Browser isn't the most exciting extension available, it does make online assessments possible. And hey, you can download it for free.
This is NOT a limited-feature version and there are NO advertisements of any type.

- (2025-06-30) Jared Olson: Literally not working. I need it for a college placement test and its saying I haven't installed it when I clearly have.
- (2025-06-10) Orianna Starace (Orianna): I'm trying to take my college math placement test, I can't open this and when I do, I have to go on a wild goose chase to find the placement test link.
- (2025-05-18) Thetrue kingofwaffles: It blocked me from using Crosh on my personal account on my personal computer without me knowing. I investigated why I couldn't open it on my computer because it kept automatically closing and the problem coincidentally went away when I disabled the extension. If this were in a school context or even relegated to only when the extension was activated in a test it would be one thing for anti cheating, but I find it invasive that it disabled Crosh for me at all times as long as I was active. With this extension installed "Crtl + ALT + T" was unusable and I take great offense to that.
- (2025-01-18) Brandee Jack: I have a Chromebook and it is not working...I have assignments due and it's saying it's not installed when it is...this is ridiculous
- (2024-12-28) zeida garcia: Not sure why Arizona State uses this for a math placement test and this does NOT work!! I have tried 2 different computers and yet this thing says not installed. Pathetic
- (2024-11-27) Nicholas Carter: thanks I thought it was just me: The SYSTEM Check verifies it is installed: Lockdown and video both. The ""CHROME I\NSTALLED" also varifies, yes, it is installed. When I go to the get started area it fails every time. - Any actionable conclusion?
- (2024-10-30) Ahmed Mohamed: This is actually infuriating, the hours I've wasted trying to get this to work. Adding and removing the extension I grew tired of it. It seems it only works once then it completely fails every other time.

- (2024-09-03) Jack Duncan: If it was possible to give it ZERO stars I would. Pointless stupid app!!!!!!!
- (2024-09-01) я лисица: If I could give this program 0 stars I would. I had this trying to set up one time, and it only worked that one time. Very aggravated and this has become nothing but a joke. deleted and re-downloaded to chrome and hands down the worst program I've tried to use while in college.
- (2024-08-28) Bode Jackson: It doesn't work?

- (2024-07-04) Dajonae Nieves: Tried to actively take a test via Respondus and it does NOT work at all. I am very frustrated that this doesn't work with my Chromebook, now I have to contact my professor on a different option to take my exam.
