(2024-04-02) bitN8: Here we are more than 2 years later and google still refuses to fix this. I am pretty much done with google docs after this year now. Use usable, it constantly loops "The Google Docs Offline Chrome extension is missing or disabled. To edit offline, enable the extension. To disable offline editing, update your settings" I enable it and links back to this error. i have cleared the cache, uninstalled the app, even got new devices with different google logins and this keeps happening, over 1.5 years now

It's easier than copy and paste, a very old feature of Windows 6 & 7, which is now obsolete unless you're using computer equipment from that time. I use google chrome as my browser on chromebook, mix & match my apps and then decide what is suitable to download or not. It takes time but is more thorough and safe to use. You can delete and choose when to delete. The make of your pc/laptop/maker is your choice. Respect other users when you make use. BT/ee users like myself follow rules eg.customers (residential)/business user? Users.

Shortcuts work just fine without this extension, but if you even try to copy and paste using right click, then you will need this extension. Locking copy and paste behind an extension is still absolutely ridiculous and a mistake I hope never leaves Google Docs.
