• (2023-10-05) Nicole Ahmed: An excellent extension for customising a reader view and automating for certain sites. There is an issue where if you take out a trial of their library / hypothes.is linking services and then this expires - the addon keeps making thousands of network requests to these sites. I've reported on github but you can fix this by 1. deleting cookies and data from here: https://my.unclutter.it/ 2. removing and reinstalling unclutter fixes this issue. No more excessive network requests :)
• (2023-09-28) Noche Hughes: I have tried many extensions that have the same goal, and I haven't found a better one than this which can capture all the text from web pages. It seems that certain delimiters prevent extensions from capturing what is above or below these elements. There are two aspects to improve: 1. Highlighting has errors: it highlights lines that you're not marking. 2. When you select words, they are covered in white and cannot be seen. Perhaps this is because the background is also white, and the selection was intended for a black background Features that can be very useful: 1. Add sticky notes associated with words, as if it were a PDF 2. Export the article including notes and highlights in PDF

• (2023-02-15) Dániel Darabos: I looked at dozens of extensions and a few whole new browsers. Some improve your privacy, others block ads. But I don't care about privacy and ads, I care about reading the article! Unclutter is perfect. It removes everything that is not the article. All popups about cookies, newsletters, subscriptions, etc. are gone. I appreciate that websites have to make a living, but in the process they have made themselves completely unusable. I don't know why anyone still visits them. But apparently they do because I keep clicking on links from friends and family that take me to them. There are a few other extensions that do the same thing and I appreciate them all. What puts Unclutter ahead of them though: - It's open-source. This is important in an extension that needs access to all data on all sites. - It keeps the original styling/formatting. It's amazing this is even possible. - It's crowd-sourced, so it works well even on niche websites. (Or you can submit an improvement with a click.) - You get a cool table of contents on the side. It's surprisingly useful. (All this time we could have had something useful in the sidebar!) - Everything is very polished and pretty. For example, you get a nice transition when turning on Unclutter. Thanks so much!

Highlights: - Useful features: highlight, reading lists - Reading mode aesthetic: keeps the original styling, has clear UI, is easy to navigate, is easy to manage (really "unclutters") - Quick, easy, clean customizability without the hassle: narrow or widen the reading space, increase or decrease font size - it offers essential features that can be tweaked flexibly and conveniently. Really attentive UI planning. Potential improvements: - Feature to select/delete/manage reading highlights more easily (in board view). - Feature to "unhighlight" within the reading page - Omit duplicate highlighting (highlighting the same text more than once) - Pop-up dictionary integration (Google dictionary extension doesn't work when I use this extension at the moment) or a toggle to turn on pop-up dictionary by highlighting A very excellent extension overall. I would love to contribute on GitHub; however, I am very lacking in terms of my technical skills right now. I hope to see your team flourish in the future.
• (2023-01-27) n ascentt: Clever extension definitely makes a lot of websites more readable. Absolutely invaluable on a phone screen! Updating my review as I love that it's run-on-demand now, and there is an option to automatically run on the same site it's already been used on. Fantastic usability. (My original review requested a version of the addon that does popup blocking without retheming, but I've since discovered PopUpOFF which fills that need very well for sites I don't want retheming.) Unclutter is the best Reader Mode style addon I've found. My one remaining wish is for it to work in Android's Custom Tab. Great work, and look forward to using this on more cluttered sites.

• (2022-11-09) Atif Hussain: Amazing extension. I'm a permission freak and so is it possible to remove the "read and change data on all websites" permission. Similar to how ublock origin lite does it. Gives you the option to add certain sites where you give complete permission access to the extension (I know it can be done from manage extension page but it's too cumbersome instead of from the extension itself). For rest of the sites it doesn't have any permissions.

• (2022-06-20) Lance Adams: Since the only good native browser Reader Mode is Microsoft's in Edge, I have been trying to find a great alternative for Chrome etc. There are a few good ones, but none have quite "hit the spot" for me personally, yet. Kudos to Clearly, JustRead, and a few other good ones, but I have only been using UNCLUTTER for an hour and already think it's the one I am sticking with. The hypothes.is API integration is also very easy. Recommendation: Add a right-click context option to trigger Reader Mode, too. It's just convenient if I have my mouse already at the bottom of the screen, or something. Lastly: Anything you can do to help it work well with mobile browsers on Chromium would be good for the future. Kiwi Browser (their GitHub page dev version) allows Extension installations and is a good test for when we finally get Chrome on mobile to allow same. Keep up the work. I'll add that recommendation to GitHub.

This is fast, all the features that you have mentioned are working well, thus making the websites more readable for all. An automatic unclutter system also makes this extension more lovely & suitable for the elder people who love only to read the main article.
• (2022-03-25) Ezekiel Joule: Looks good, and has option to default it to ON instead of manually having to turn it on. Reminds me of an old plugin that made websites look like MS Word documents (for discreet browsing in class).

  Was trying to select text to copy (not possible, I guess) and highlighted it. I can't see any way of deleting a highlight. Is there a way?
