- Exactly what I wanted! No messing with buttons or adding toggles- just changes the background color. I very much prefer to change the page color myself if I feel the need, so I really appreciate that this extension doesn't automatically invert the page/text :) My only note is that some of the elements are a little wonky- like the zoom toggle looks off. But I don't mind.

- Best extension that isn't a copy of others, dose what it says it will do but it would be nice if it worked on other sits like Google classroom.

- Only changes the background AROUND the document to a medium grey. The document itself stays as black text on a white background. Fail.

- This is just what I'm looking for! However, I had to knock off a star because some of the menus have the original font color resulting in black-on-dark-gray. Fix that, and I'll bump it up to 5 stars

- It actually works haha, I was looking for an add on that only darkens the theme but not the doc itself and this is just want I was looking for.

- Works very well, replaces a couple other dark mode extensions that used to work for Google Docs. I only wish it would also work on the main Docs page (browsing your documents) and not solely on the opened docs themselves, since it's jarring to jump back and forth, but thankfully I spend more of my time actually reading docs. Would be an easy 5* if it affected all of the Docs interface!
