This browser extension disables the Watch Later autoplay behavior when selecting a video from the Watch Later list.
The YouTube Watch Later feature lets users save a video to watch at a later time. When selecting a video from the Watch Later list YouTube will then always autoplay every subsequent video from the list. This happens because YouTube treats the Watch Later list just like any other playlist and there is no way to disable autoplay when viewing videos in a playlist.
Once installed, the extension works automatically. When you click on a video on the Watch Later list the extension will remove the playlist parameters from the video URL, allowing you to watch the video or copy the URL without the default autoplaying playlist behavior.

- (2025-01-24) Batuhan Kesler: It doesn't work anymore. It used to work as it should. When I click on a video from the Watch Later page it wouldn't go to the next video after the video ends. But now it doesn't work anymore. I'm using Vivaldi browser. I don't know if it works on Chrome normally but I don't have any problem on Vivaldi with any other extension.

- (2024-10-02) Alexey Petrovich: It doesn't work, unfortunately. The latest version of macOS, the latest version of Chrome. I installed the plugin, but after the video ends, the next one automatically starts playing, meaning nothing has changed in the behavior of the default player.

- (2024-06-16) Marian Melinte: Excellent! Now I can continue watching videos without having to load the playlist every time. I don't think they've tested to see how bad it is to watch a video when the playlist has ~1k videos. I'm not sure how many are actually added in the playlist next to the video, but it's enough to freeze the entire page (except the video) so that I can't interact with anything for a couple seconds.
- (2024-03-31) Milbyte: sadly it does not work for me. its not removing the &list=WL from the URL. I use vivaldi though, so its barely a mainstream browser, even if it technically supports webstore extensions
- (2024-03-21) Dimaz Sembodo: Thanks for this, Jeff! It works on both Chrome & Brave, though on Brave it only works if you open the Watch Later in a new tab instead of from clicking the Watch Later in the sidebar. Edit: it works fine on Brave if you disable Brave Shields
