Image from store Search & Link Preview
Description from store This extension enables you to browse faster online in two ways: preview search results on same page and secondly preview any link from the search result page. How it works: * To perform a search in preview mode, simply select the text and the click on the "search" tooltip button that appears. * To preview a URL, hover over the URL and click on the "preview" tooltip that appears. Features: * !NEW! Automatic hover to preview any URL; choose the hover delay. * !NEW! Works on links that usually break previews including stackoverflow.com * It supports multiple search engines including Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex and Baidu * The preview window is resizable and the default size (width and height) of the preview window can be set in the settings pages. * Easily go from preview mode to a new tab page by clicking on the "Open in New Tab" control icon. * Ability to minimize the window or drag it to ensure it does not block important content. * Disable it for specific sites by right-clicking on the browser icon and selecting the "Disable" option while that page is active. The preview may not work on certain pages like Chrome Webstore pages, browser pages (e.g. New Tab), and certain websites managed by enterprise-policy. • (2023-10-12) Opack Bright: This is EXACTLY why I wanted since so long!!! No more thousands of opened tabs just to have a glimpse at what's behind a link, no more tabs opened for any trivial search, it's nearly really perfect! I say "nearly", because what would make it perfect would be: - the possibility to set the search engine to use (plus it is annoying that Google always displays the GDPR popup and refuses to connect in the popup) - the possibility to have multiple "search engines" in the tooltip: this would allow to search the text either in Google, Wikipedia or WordReference for instance. - to make it work anywhere (it seems like some sites such as GMail don't like this extension) Still, it's a great extension ;-)

  • (2023-06-09) Clemens Ratte-Polle: very nice and fast and simple :) I need this! BUT i lose all my other right click context tooltips :( It should be an option to deactivate the tooltip.
  • (2023-06-04) Sean Sweeney: Easy to use and just what I was looking for to preview sites and quickly search for words and terms. I wish there was a way to make the font smaller in the popup window.
  • (2023-03-01) K S: I can get a very nice preview display, but for some reason the settings are not saved when I turn on the settings toggle switch. That is the only disappointment.

  • (2023-10-12, v:23.9.22) Opack Bright: Have multiple search engines
Hi! It would be awesome to have multiple "search engines" in the tooltip. This would allow to search the text either in Google, Wikipedia or WordReference for instance. Is it feasible? Great work anyway, thanks!
  • (2023-10-12, v:23.9.22) Opack Bright: Let users configure the search engine to use
Hi! It would be great if we had the possibility to set the search engine to use. I bet some people do not want to use Google (plus Google it is annoying that Google always displays the GDPR popup and refuses to connect in the popup) Thanks for your work!
  • (2023-06-07, v:23.3.1) Tony Dale: Remember resized window
I don't know if this is possible or not, but is there a way for the extension to remember the resized window and open to the resized window thereafter? I prefer to resize it as a sidebar on the right, since the right side is generally blank when reviewing Google search results. That way any preview would open up as a right sidebar instead. Thanks!
  • (2023-06-04, v:23.3.1) Sean Sweeney: change content size in popup window?
Hello. This is a great app, thanks. Would it be quick/easy enough to have a setting to decrease (or increase) the font/content in the window? Thanks again!
