Description from store YouTube Kids Safe makes YouTube a safe place for kids! This extension allows parents to pre-approve individual YouTube channels that they are happy for their kids to have access to, but it blocks many elements of the YouTube platform. This extension does the following: - Entirely removes the search bar - Blocks access to YouTube Shorts - Blocks comments - Blocks trending videos, recommended videos & subscribe buttons - Redirects all manual URL entry - Redirects all attempts to navigate to 'unauthorised' areas - Provides a clutter free, distraction free YouTube user interface -------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to use the extension Before downloading the extension: 1) Start by registering a supervised child Google account directly with Google that you can manage as a parent/guardian via the Google Family Link app. If your child already have their own Google account (perhaps issued via school) then skip this step. 2) Login to Google or YouTube using the child account. 3) Sit down with your child and discuss what types of channels and videos they want to watch. Make it fun and use the moment to really understand what it is your children care about on Youtube. Once you are happy with a channels content, you can choose to subscribe your child to that channel. There is no limit to the number of channels you can subscribe your child to. 4) Install/Turn on this extension 5) That's it. You have now blocked all other YouTube access apart from the channels you have pre-approved. If you want to add or remove channels, simply turn this extensions off and add/delete as many as needed. Don't forget to turn the extension back on before giving your kids access to YouTube again. NOTE: YouTube Shorts will be blocked for all channels, including subscribed channels. Children do not need access to endless 3 second dopamine spikes.
