Description from store With Phlinx installed, all you have to do is long click (click and hold) any piece of text on any website to immediately access a sidebar full of related information. It also works on links, which means you never have to leave your current tab and lose context. Phlinx also automatically identifies people, locations, movies, games, products, and many other content types, and serves up context-specific information, such as trailers, social media links, travel guides, and more. So what are you waiting for? Never lose your context again – just click, hold, and wait for the magic.

  • (2021-12-02) Gabrielle Lindberg: I've used this extension for a while after seeing it on bulbapedia and it's suuuuuper useful. being able to really quickly see the definitions of words or preview links in the same tab without having to constantly switch to new tabs or windows is amazing. i'm kinda shocked that this isn't more popular. my only criticism is that for now it's not really good at identifying phrases and it instead searches individual words. that can be avoided by highlighting the phrase you want to search and then long clicking, so this is mostly just a minor nitpick. love it!
  • (2021-08-10) Eteria Swift: Really helpful and useful, it would be perfect if they had a Spanish version, but, anyway, it allows me to do research and finish my homework much faster, highly recommended
  • (2021-07-29) Eren Onan: Hello, Thank you for such helpful extenstion but ı have a little request. Can you add feature of "use in file URLs"?

  • (2021-07-15) WorthySun387997: This is an amazing chrome extension, its very innovative and has a nice interface on it. Glad I found myself on reddit today to see the ad. I couldn't get it to work on some of my tabs at first, but I just refreshed my tabs and never had the problem on my device again. Thanks to the devs for creating this, this is gonna save a lot of time for my online classes.
  • (2021-07-06) Ernest Florenz Quitalig: found this while trying to find a feature like the good ol' kindle keyboard 3 has when you hover(get close to a word) it will pull up the definition of that word for you. Nice! But if some one know a software or addon like kindle has please tell me.
  • (2021-07-04) Alexander Blakie: Quite useful, but doesn't work in Google Docs :(
  • (2021-06-28) Does as advertised. Sad side note tho, it also shows pop-up ads... so you get double the ad for one popup... amazin.
  • (2021-06-23) Sumana Saha: wow so genius
  • (2021-06-15) Brendan May: fantastic add-in, love the floating magic. This is not easy to do.
  • (2021-06-13) Ibrahim Afzal: Works well although it doesn't work on some sites.(such as w3schools.com)
  • (2021-06-03) bishal baruah: Very useful extension. The transitions are also very fluid.
  • (2021-04-24) Hnggr: can you make the window not close when i click something outside

  • (2021-03-30) Jericho Paolo Opsima: came here on reddit
  • (2021-03-28) Mtd5: It's a very good extension, and click&hold on a link show you a preview on the right side of the screen. It even worked in foreign words like german and french! The only Problem is that it rarely doesnt know in what context it is, But you really can't argue with, because it needs then to look at your website wchich is then again a privacy issue. still, i can recommend it, especially those who are on a laptop with only a touchpad.
  • (2021-03-28) Aariq: Pretty useful. Saw the ad on Bulbapedia and tried it. And it was (& is) a big help for well, Bulbapedia!!
  • (2021-03-28) PurpledCabbage: Its like a better cmd+click (or if you're on windows, ctrl+click)
  • (2021-03-27) Ailith Twinning: Essentially this is a more useable and condensed method of quickly pulling out sub-topics for reference than setting up "search google for this phrase" and wiki new-tabbing to pop into a second window/monitor. I've already got that going on my computers but man, this is just really smooth, additionally, it gives a shortlist of reddit and twitter posts. You can long-click any word and it will either search that word or, if it identifies one, the collective phrase. This will likely work better over time as algos learn, but currently you can just click and drag (highlight) a text and then long-click, it will use what you select. Tried it out extensively on the minecraft webpage and I don't think it uses the obvious classification flags - what does work every time is selecting compatible hyperlinks (things that point to wiki pages of various domains) by long pressing any part of the hypertext, and you can still do a general search by highlighting the text itself if you, say, want to see the reddit mentions. Very, very cool extension, especially useful if I want to use the monitor I have in portrait for wikis while gaming. Less necessary in my use case for research/writing and whatnot, but honestly this could drastically cut down the amount of windows, tabs, and monitors in use in that case.
  • (2021-03-27) DarkYuan (DarkYuan): I could see this being quite useful! So any highlighted text I long-click will be searched, and any link i long-click will open a preview window. Nifty! Edit: Even cooler that the preview window is only visible on the tab I opened it in. Ooh, and a little search tab!
  • (2021-03-26) Fikret Zulic: Great
  • (2021-03-26) Kenneth Louis: Even though I didn't understanded it at first, it really helped my life. It helped me do everything. This extension is like a detour for tabs. WooHoo! If there were 10 stars, I would rate it as 10. Thanks, Phlinx!
  • (2021-03-22) A Walker: Very innovative and helpful idea! As a student it is incredibly useful when reading long scholarly articles and it's intuitive and easy to use. Being able to see my phlinx history sure is interesting, having apparently looked up "Shrek (2001) Reviews and Commentary" and "ply verb definition" within the same day. Great extension overall :D
  • (2021-03-05) Ming-Yee Tsang: It works reasonably well, but it seems to break Google Calendar: I am unable to add events while it is active, but the problem is fixed when I disable the extension.
