Keyboard shortcuts:
- Alt+Shift+F: Instantly bookmark the current tab group, using the tab group’s name as the bookmark folder
- Alt+Shift+B: Instantly bookmark the current tab group and close it, using the tab group’s name as the bookmark folder
- Ctrl+Shift+F: Open a pop-up to manually select the folder where you want to save your current tab group as bookmarks or access extension settings.
Note: If the shortcuts don’t work, your browser or another extension may already be using them. Go to your browser’s extension shortcuts page (chrome://extensions/shortcuts) and assign different keys.
This extension handles duplicates and can reuse existing folders that match tab group names.

- (2025-08-27) Yejun Su: The only problem after upgrading is it doesn't keep the colon in the folder's name. For example, the tab group name is "Area: project name", the folder is "Area project name". Everything else is great. Thank you.
- (2025-08-09) onefiniteplanet: I have tried it in brave, and it would be a zero star as it does nothing in response to the keyboard shortcuts. I don't normally use Chrome, but I did try it in Chrome, and it does work, and then i went back to Brave and found it did work from the icon if i pinned the extension. Probably worth adding that hint to the notes, might also apply in other browsers. Apart from a note that doesn't work from shortcut in Brave being helpful, it also doesn't save a new folder inside an existing folder it you select a folder in which to place the new folder of shortcuts. Not huge, as you can move it, but for me that would push it to the full 5 stars.

As a user I would like a popup with an input field that autocompletes for bookmark folders and when I have selected my desired folder, then a new folder with the same name as the tab group will be added to the bottom of the desired folder.

File Explorer folders, and "close this menu (with a red icon), and no explanation - ??? is this your extension popping this up or another program? Can you make the keyboard shortcut configurable please?

Last year I started using tab groups, and I love them, but it got to the point where I always have about 40 tabs in total and it was starting to slow my laptop. Also my bookmark bar already had a lot of bookmarks, so I didn't want to add more. + This was a life saver to close so many tabs (especially ones that I only look at once a month) and organize my bookmark bar. - But I do wish the default icon for the group in the bookmark bar was changeable (it's a generic folder icon), so that it's easier to differentiate the groups in the bookmark bar. I wish it would use the icon of one of the folder's bookmarks, or that we could change it to an emoji or upload our own photo. Hope they add this in the future!
