Automatically replace y/n and other abbreviations in Wattpad and AO3.

Description from store
POV improves the Wattpad and AO3 reading experience by automatically replacing abbreviations like "y/n" with your real name. Immerse yourself in "reader x anything" stories by embedding your real name and attributes in the story!
POV is a prettier, faster, and more advanced InteractiveFics replacement for Wattpad and AO3. Unlike InteractiveFics, POV supports y/n and any other abbreviation, such as e/c, h/c, and c/n. You can also replace arbitrary words like "Charlie" with "Harry".
This extension is not affiliated with the Wattpad company or Archive of Our Own in any way.

- (2025-02-21) Js Jxhdndi: It's great, but if you're wanting to use it to change pronouns it kinda messes up- I wanted to change 'she/her' to 'he/him' but as well as changing the correct words if it sees a word like 'there' because it has 'her' in it, it just changes to 'thime' which is funny but sucks to read, I hope they can try and fix this soon because other than that, it's great.
- (2025-01-21) Siggy Flores: Great! Fantastic! BUT..... Dev -- PLEASE -- put in the description that it puts the big ol' orange box at the TOP of the chapter for you to update your preferred name into. I was in the middle of the chapter when I got tired of seeing Y/N and found this extension. I took 10m trying to figure out how on earth to actually use it and came across another comment saying they felt stupid for not seeing it. We aren't stupid, y'all! We're just not aware. lol
- (2025-01-21) Sadie Le Mon: LOVE IT!!!!!! genuinley works great, took a sec to figure out tho just bc im stupid and didnt realise the way it works is by putting a big orange button at the start of each chapter under the chapter title LMAO
- (2025-01-20) Zora: works perfectly, saves me from cringe nicknames 🙏
- (2025-01-08) soren: love it but i wish it worked for tumblr😭
- (2024-12-24) notananimegirl: For some reason, it freaks out when using brackets and replaces every instance of y and n. Ex: [y/n]
- (2024-12-03) lynx or Asker: WHERE TF IS IT?? edit: i found it
- (2024-11-27) haley: Works great! I was confused on why I couldn't configure the extension itself but turns out I was just being dumb glossing over the HUGE button "POV Replacer" the wattpad/ao3 webpage. Thanks for this!! 💙
- (2024-11-26) Undynlicia: Only just started, but it works great, it's weird actually reading my name in the fics but in a good way! Keep up the good work!
- (2024-11-25) Myema Jones: y'all it took a while to get it to work but now I'm feining for it. THANK YOU DEVELOPER
- (2024-11-20) Ash Turner: how does it work cuz I cant change mu name
- (2024-11-11) Amrit Bal: Everything works smoothly except it doesn't recognize italics. Not sure if this is user error but it won't let me change an italicized name to the name I want.
- (2024-10-05) h4terlovin: Works great but still needs some improvements and clearer directions on first use. Was testing it out by trying to replace phrases such as "[FN]" with "firstname" and "[LN]" with "lastname" but it only ended up replacing every F, N, and L in the work. For example, "Five Weeks Later" would become "firstlastnameameive Weeks lastnameater". Edit: When I took the brackets off the phrases and just left them as "FN" and "LN", the work seemed more normal but now the phrases would be something like "[firstname]" and "[lastname]".
- (2024-10-03) Kimberly Hansen: Works great. Takes a few minutes to get it working (had to reload the page a few times) but it does what it needs to and is easy to find on AO3 (I don't use Wattpad so I cannot review its functionality there). The only thing I would like is if it can be updated eventually to be more compatible with the dark version of the AO3 website. I use that so it's easier on my eyes to read for long periods of time and with the format of the POV it was pretty hard to read the placeholders of the populated boxes. I was able to figure it out still so I'm still happy but wanted to let people know about this minor difficulty.
- (2024-09-10) Ria: Once I figured out how it works, it's great! To those confused: when you first activate the replacer as an extension, it's integrated into each website. So, instead of you editing yn or whatever you'd like to replace on the top right corner (like many other extensions do), you have to locate the button that says "POV Replacer" at the top of the page. It looks like a natural part of the website which is why it seems so many missed it (as I did). And! Please make sure you choose *exactly* what you want to replace. The program is reading a string and so it will need the exact thing to replace it.
- (2024-09-03) Anne Smile: FOR EVB WHO CANT FIGURE OUT USE. You should reload the page and scroll back to the top. Then edit the info. It works just fine, it's just not obvious Edit 1 minute later: I lied. This works terribly. It adds the name anytime the letter 'y' or 'n' appears. Don't recommend
- (2024-09-01) Giovanna Stefanatos: literally cannot figure out how to change the name.
- (2024-08-30) Mick Ramos: not really sure what's happening and maybe I'm just being dumb but I have the extension set as "on" but all it does is change "(y/n)" to "your name" and I have no clue where to go to replace "your name" to my name :( Edit literally like 4 mins later: I'm so stupid bro I didn't see the darn button right in front of my face :P
- (2024-07-19) Abigail Sims: I added it changed. Y/n and L/n to my name, and Cr it ended up when the text says "I own this place" it auto corrected to "I own this plJacob" i rechecked everything and there was nothing to cause it. don't recommend at all, bring interactivefix back. this was an outragous experience for me, as I had asked the creator about it thinking it was on her, she proved that it wasn't. i'm very upset right now.
- (2024-06-25) Crazy Watermelon Person: Got me bouncing off my feet, 11/10 thank you sm dear Developer ily :3
- (2024-05-28) kitafuyu: It's good, but please make it so it doesn't blend into other words. When I try to change 'he' into 'they' it changes everytime h and e are next to each other. It would go from 'the' to 'tthey'
- (2024-05-14) Alastor: kind of wish it worked for other fanfic sites, cuz I don't use Wattpad at all, and to my knowledge there are no other y/n replacer name things out there, (that aren't spyware, broken, or too complicated to use)
- (2024-04-20) kelikume ebinum: we should be able to assign names for different stories and each story can havd their separate names bc th name get confusing when i go to other stories.
- (2024-04-07) Miro: I like it but it needs to be more strict bc if the name I'm changing is in a part of a characters name then it'll change it to
- (2024-01-21) Cherry (Karinna): It works just fine for me and it saves the changes even if you refresh or go onto a different story so I like it. But the only thing I don't like is how it's designed...if you're in the middle of reading and want to change something like a last name for an example then you basically have to scroll all the way back up to the top. I wish it was designed like the InteractiveFics extension where you click on the extension in the corner and then put the replacements you want instead.😭
- (2023-12-29) Jamelia Chol: I see that others don't work, but mine works fine and it's worth it💗
- (2023-12-26) moonliight127: Doesn't work no matter how much I try. The image on download page doesn't appear for me
- (2023-12-26) Zofia Frydrych: doesn't work.
- (2023-12-14) Junior Manzo: I keep hearing about how others love this extension, but not matter how hard I try this doesn't seem to work for me. I hit pov turn on, which means its on and nothing changed. I input the name on the left, and then changed it to the name I wanted on the right. Literally nothing changed. Its all still the same as it was before. Ugh, does anyone have any tips that could help me out?

- (2023-11-23) Kimorre Gaines: Its really good I'm just wondering if you can make it on the side of the screen instead of in the middle or make it like an actual extension where you tap it switch the names and tap it again and it disappear
- (2023-08-19) Rachel Sanchez: This works great and is super easy to use! In case anyone runs into the same struggle I had when first using it, if you already have a story open after downloading the extension, make sure to refresh the page and then the "POV Replacer" button should show up at the top of the story. I was under the impression that I had to somehow click the actual extension in the bar, so I was confused for a bit until I thought to refresh haha! The only slight issue I seem to notice is (which isn't even necessarily the extension's fault) some authors tend to write "[Y/N]" instead of just "Y/N", so when replacing "Y/N" with my name, it will still show up in brackets like so, [Name]. Although not the worst thing ever I still wanted to see if I could have only my name to show up. I thought I could just write "[Y/N]" in the extension instead of "Y/N" as I had originally, but it ending up replacing all of the "Y" and "N"s in the story with my name. I assume this is probably just a coding language issue and there' may not be a way to fix it (although I'm not super familiar with coding so I could be wrong) but just thought I'd add that in. Overall a great extension :)

- (2023-06-01) Maddisyn Barendregt: Judging by the reviews it seems to be a good alternative to the InteractiveFics extension, unfortunatley it can ONLY be used on wattpad and no other sites.

- (2023-03-01) Sophia: The extension works well, but the big orange button to write the codes is big and a little annoying. It would be better if we could directly interact with the extension in the puzzle icon.
