Image from store Revert Wikipedia Layout
Description from store Many individuals prefer the old Wikipedia layout (pre-2023)— this extension aims to bring that back. Wikipedia offers registered users to change their layout preferences through their account settings, however, incognito and unregistered users are unfortunately left out. This simple extension solves this issue by adding the necessary URL parameter to every Wikipedia page, to ensure that the old layout is displayed.

  • (2023-10-29) Andrew Morrell: does what it says!
  • (2023-10-19) Trevor Hart: After Wikipedia pulled a Fandom with its new desktop-mode layout, This extension provides a good way to go back to the classic Vector skin. I like the Vector skin better, since it isn't a poorly-blown-up version of the mobile layout. If you liked the pre-2023 layout of Wikipedia, this extension is for you!
  • (2023-09-02) Mike Butt: Sweet relief.
  • (2023-06-27) Sergei K: Subarashii
  • (2023-05-21) Diako Taha: best extension ever, even better than adblock
  • (2023-04-17) Michał “Foxbond” Chraniuk: Sadly no longer works, I had to disable it to open wikipedia page.
  • (2023-03-30) Nikolai Alexandrov: Works perfect. Thank you!
  • (2023-02-16) Benjamin Hunting: With this extension installed, I can't access the main Wikipedia site through the URL bar in Chrome. The site attempts to reload itself over and over. I can access it via links without issues.
  • (2023-02-11) Izofeu: Seriously, F you wikipedia, forcing me to create an account to change the layout. Just let me set a cookie so I don't need to install yet another browser extension just to surf the web painlessly. YT itself requires 6 extensions to be usable for me.
  • (2023-02-02) Nikolai Iakimov: I second what Elisabeth Rowe has written. All the hyperlinks on pages have "?useskin=vector" at the end, hence no tooltip preview appears. Please, see how it's done in the Old Wiki extension, it doesn't have the same problem: https://github.com/adlerzei/old-wiki
  • (2023-01-29) Elizabeth Rowe: It works, but it doesn't show the previews when you hover over the hyperlinks.
  • (2023-01-27) TheToonsofJosh: Again: This extension helps a lot, the new layout really sucks and it's baffling that they use THAT as the default layout, does what it says on the title, awesome.
  • (2023-01-27) Jarmo Syvänne: The new Wikipedia UI sucks real bad. After installing this extension Wikipedia is usable again. Excellent.
  • (2023-01-26) Thanh Minhton: Thank you for your efforts. Cannot stress how poorly the new wikipedia was implemented with the ridiculous use of wasted whitespace
  • (2023-01-25) Josh Hochman: Thank you for restoring some measure of sanity to an increasingly insane world. Minor request: I'm wondering if it would be possible to add an option to somehow exclude bookmarked pages from the extension's URL modification? That way I could click on a bookmark and it would bring me to the default/unmodified URL (it used to do this prior to 1/23, before you updated it). I have a number of Wikipedia pages bookmarked, and now that the URL has been modified, clicking on a bookmark automatically redirects me to the useskin=vector version of the page. I haven't lost any bookmarks or anything, but the bookmark star isn't blue anymore for those select pages and it's a slight annoyance in regards to keeping track of articles I previously saved.
  • (2023-01-24) cm: Exactly what I needed
  • (2023-01-24) Otto Palmlöf: Does exactly what is says
  • (2023-01-24) general hades: new layout wastes 2/3rds of my screen. this does what it says on the can. website now functions properly on desktops
  • (2023-01-24) Rob: Works!
  • (2023-01-23) Анна-Мария Конова: So all this extension does is append '?useskin=vector' to all Wikipedia links. There is already a Tampermonkey script available doing the same thing.
  • (2023-01-23) Willie Ball: Does exactly what it says without any fuss. Did notice that it tries to constantly refresh reddit on old reddit layout, but removing its permission to modify reddit stopped it.
  • (2023-01-23) L: Hasn't erased my windows directory yet and does what it says on the tin. Excellent.
  • (2023-01-22) // ANT //: Perfect
  • (2023-01-22) Colin Ranere: Thank you for making this, the current design is a hideous waste of space and I don't like them trying to force an account just to make it decent looking again. Gotta love having to install a plugin every time a major website does a terrible redesign. Wooooo.
  • (2023-01-22) Matthew Dardengo: Works for Wikipedia hyperlinks, but not when I use Wikipedia's search box.
  • (2023-01-22) Abdul Hadi: Works as intended. Thank you, random Reddit user!
  • (2023-01-22) Morning Lemon: 22-01-2023 Works good
  • (2023-01-22) Nick Seraphin: As of 1-22-23, this extension worked perfectly. Well done.
  • (2023-01-22) Mazen Abuelenain: Does not seem to work for me, whenever I click a link it still shows the original UI. Redirector seems to work for me but not this extension.
