Chrome extension adding a right-click option 'Summarize' to get text summaries using the latest OpenAI's GPT-4o or Google Gemini.
This extension adds a right-click option when a text selected on any webpage. After clicking 'Summarize' the extension redirects to ChatGPT or Google Bard and enters the selected text to the AI engine and initiates the request.
This way you may only read the short, summarized content, which will make your life much easier.
In settings (Clicking the Extension link in Extension toolbar), you can toggle or set:
✅ Summarize with ChatGPT (Context Menu)
✅ Summarize with Google Bard (Context Menu)
✅ Get PI Prompts Chrome Extension link (Context Menu)
⚙️ Desired length of the summarized text (one line, one paragraph, two paragraphs or three paragraphs)
📢 Summarize is more powerful with 'PI Prompts' free extension, which adds a right hand side panel to ChatGPT or Google Bard to access your prompt library.
Please note that currently there are the following input character limits:
- ChatGPT: 10,000 characters (~2,000 words)
- Google Bard: 4,000 characters (~800 words)
This extension cuts the selected text at the maximum input limit, to avoid any error in the LLMs.

I saw no evidence bard was an option. the extension takes you directly into a session at openai.com which can be interesting in and of itself if you haven't tried it before. 2 stars is because you have to highlight the totality of text on the page if i read the instructions correctly and that takes time. Not very user friendly and no easy controls or setting oe explanations. Bard might as well be taken out of the name since a redirect to openai.com is never going to give you Bard
- (2023-05-08) Zef Ir: This is a very simple yet highly useful extension. I just downloaded it yesterday and I'm already finding it extremely handy in a wide range of scenarios (I'm using it with ChatGPT). Nothing fancy but does exactly what it promises. I would suggest to include on-page summary capabilities in the future, which would eliminate the need for the user to be redirected to the ChatGPT interface. Instead, the summary could be displayed in an overlay or something similar. Additionally, it would be convenient if the answer would be automatically copied to the clipboard.
- (2023-03-28) ai automate your life: This extension is useless... all it does is open chatgpt and paste the text (you have already copied) into it... nothing done about the length issue of chatgpt and the 'selection' of how many paragraphs does not work (cannot change it). In addition - chatGPT never listens to those either so very bad prompt here... Would rate it 0 as it is useless but had to give it a 1.
