Nobias uses LexisNexis databases for general news to show you which news sources have the most reputable editorial boards and the most integrity. You'll be able to read with confidence and avoid tabloid journalism and yellow journalism. Additionally, article level insights include credibility of the author based on employer rating and journalistic awards won by the author and in the case of financial articles, a combination of accuracy, average expected return and number of articles written by the author.

Super helpful extension and works very well with many sources - would highly recommend! It's impossible to be familiar with every news source and this does a good job of assessing and helping you filter the noise

The idea is 5-star but implementation is 2-star, e.g. 3-star total IMHO. For example it claims that CNN is a highly credible "slightly center left leaning" source, when they are the epitome of fake-news! So credibility is based upon how wide-spread the news is world-wide, i.e. "wide-spread." However, if you could count how many times they went with fake stories that they had to retract, they would definitely be low-credible source. To be fair they are mostly correct on a binary level; they correctly identify news that caters to the left or right of center, even if they incorrectly portray to what degree.

Well, TBH I stumble upon this by mistake but Now I am loving it. If you love reading and majority of your time spent in front of computer screen you shouldn't miss this extension. Would love a app which can work on android. That would be lovely.

Online news is like the Wild West now. Who are you supposed to trust anymore. Not even sure about this but I’m going to give it a shot and see.

Imho I don’t know if I’d use this every day as there are certain publications that I trust no matter what even if I don’t agree with the author or the opinion in the article. Still this seems like it could help with some of those publications I’m not familiar with and if I should even bother reading it.

This is great. Don’t even know it’s working in the background until I go to search for news. Then I can check if I should read it or not.
Like this - is it on Firefox too? Or is there an app? It seems like it only works on a regular computer and I read the news on my phone more.
So I saw a Facebook ad for this thing and decided why not. I’m a journalism student - not sure why when it seems like journalists are not the favorite people right now. Anyways makes me think about what are my own biases and if I can even write without them. I just want to get a job out of school.

Having diff points of view is a good thing . But hearing the other side is good . trying to burst the bubble. this is one of the best extension for chrome try it for your self.

Interesting. Does seem to work on telling you the politics of any news item before you are going to read it. Wish it worked with some of the international publications I read.

I can’t stand reading any of the liberal rags out there. And every day it seems like there is just more snowflake whining. Usually I stick to the Twitters I know but if I want to know ahead of time what the slant is going to be this helps. Done with yellow journalists.

with all talk about facebook and fake news i wanted a way to try to block some of it i already had the trump blocker lol but then i found this it does not block the news but it tells you if its from a real source or what that helps me decide if i should read it

There is so much bias in news today. This tool is really helpful. I enjoyed being able to find out what the "others" are saying/reading.
