Description from extension meta

Convert Register articles to UK spelling.

Image from store Spellerizer
Description from store An extension for changing words in articles published by The Register from US spellings to UK spellings. You probably don't need this extension. And automatically swapping words with US spellings for their UK equivalent is a recipe for mayhem. But if you're really determined to read The Register in the King's English, well, you've come to the right place.

  • (2022-10-29) Jon Catling: Hopeful. Everything to do with words spelled correctly, in the English language, nothing to do with US spelling, they can de whatever they want (it's "colour", not "col-or").
  • (2022-10-25) Adam Trickett: Doesn't seem to work at all. Would be very useful if it did though.
  • (2022-10-24) Steve Button: Very useful, as I find the US spelling a little jarring. It's not that big of a deal though. I could care less. What I would really like is an extension to make the articles really "Bite the hand that feeds IT" and turn the pigeon back into a vulture. The Reg used to run excellent articles, such as the series about Nokia, but have since descended into regurgitating press releases. You could start with a thorough investigation into censorship by US tech giants. (or the left/lib slanting bias of Google News, which comes with 3/4 of the world's smart phones!)
