Screenshot YouTube Video is a compact and user-friendly extension that allows you to take a screenshot of YouTube and OK.ru videos and save the frame to your PC without using third-party programs and without cropping the video player frames. Ready-to-use frame from a movie or clip in maximum quality with just one click of the cursor.
It is easy to find the Video Screenshot Button — that's the camera image in the lower part of the player.
Features of the browser extension:
— The button is well-integrated into the design of the YouTube and OK.ru video players;
— Screen capture in JPEG format and without the frames of the video player;
— Downloaded frames have readable (human-friendly) names;
— "Embedded" video frame loading support, i.e. YouTube and OK.ru videos hosted on third-party sites;

- This causes 100% CPU usage after a while and makes Chrome very laggy. You can see it in the Chrome Task Manager. Not sure if this a bug or they hide some kind of bitcoin miner in there.

- This extension (v0.7.67.0, updated on 2024.11.06) causes Chrome to abnormally consume excessive CPU resources. When I have only few Chrome tabs, sometimes Chrome's CPU usage went abnormally high. (also with high CPU Temp / Power consumption / Fan RPM) After spending some time for investigation, I confirmed that this extension is the culprit. (Verifiable via Chrome -> three-dot menu -> More tools -> Task manager) - Symptoms: When opening a new Youtube tab and begin to play video, (not always, occasionally) Chrome's CPU usage spikes abnormally high. Even after closing the affected tab (= when I don't have any Youtube tabs), Chrome's CPU usage still remains very high. The only way to normalize CPU usage is: completely close the Chrome and restart it. I've been using this extension for several months, and I think this symptom occured recently. So I suppose maybe it's related with Youtube's recent redesigned player UI. (not sure about this) But anyway, I recommend to disable this extension for now.

- I give it a 5-star easily. I've been using it for a while and it works superbly, until now. I believe the recent YouTube interface update broke it, which I'm sure you are already fixing it. So, fingers crossed. Aside from this, it is easily the best extension for screenshot and there are no other quite like it. I wish the developer all the luck.

- Super simple and VERY high quality. I set my resolution to the highest and it gives me 4k results. Only thing I wish it had was frame browsing, like a button that would skip forward or backward one frame at a time. Otherwise, fantastic addon.
