Securely encrypt your text on Pastebin.com
securebin is an open-source Google Chrome extension designed to provide a secure method of text encryption for users interacting with PasteBin. Utilizing the Forge Crypto Library, secureBin offers AES symmetric encryption in three modes: CBC, CTR, and GCM, supporting key lengths of 128, 192, and 256 bits.
The extension allows users the flexibility to encrypt their text using a personal password or a randomly generated encryption key provided by securebin. In instances where a password is utilized, a secure key is derived using a 128-byte salt and PKCS5/PBKDF2.
To use secureBin with PasteBin, users are required to obtain an API key from PasteBin and configure it within the extension’s settings. This setup enables users to encrypt their messages securely and share them through PasteBin. In addition to PasteBin, secureBin also provides functionality for users to encrypt text directly to their clipboard, supporting secure text sharing across various platforms.
Disclaimer:
Please note that secureBin is not designed to protect against physical access to your computer, and any data stored in the extension’s history or settings tab is stored unencrypted. Users interested in learning more about secureBin, its design decisions, and how to contribute to the project are encouraged to visit the project’s Wiki page.
