it's not having instagram on your phone but only on your pc
so you don't have access at all times eg when you are on the toilet
on the pc you can customize the instagram page with other extensions

and keep logging in to check not exactly sane and minimal
therefore the extension gives you the possibility to be notified on pc in an "elegant" way
