Description from store DeArrow is a browser extension for YouTube for reducing sensationalism, misleading titles and aggressive thumbnails. DeArrow works by formatting all titles, and replacing thumbnails with screenshots at specific timestamps. No more dealing with clickbait, arrows, or annoying faces. Users can submit better titles and thumbnails for each video and vote on them. • (2025-07-02) kazuya dao: works well, saves time, made me happy enough to support creators with a review.
  • (2025-06-25) dxo: It's NOT free. You have to pay to get immediate access. Yes, there is an option to wait 12 god damn hours to use it for free, and that is how the developer got around the loophole of labeling this as a free extension. And he keeps coming up with more and more b*llsh*t excuses and answers to every criticism of this blatantly disrespectful and shady business model.
  • (2025-06-23) Micho _: However much time this increases in loading is made up in full by it's purpose. My youtube use is more purposeful than ever. Amazing extension! Every desktop youtube user needs to try this and Untrap.
  • (2025-06-13) Orpheus Hitchcock: I really appreciate this extension. DeArrow has made youtube a lot more objective, removing the flashy thumbnails and letting me choose which videos to watch easier. The title changes are my favorite.
  • (2025-06-04) Rodolfo: Just realized how little I've been using YouTube since I installed this extension, which was my goal. Before, I would spend my day watching YouTube videos over and over. Now, if I visit the website three times a day, it's a lot. Plus, it made me click on videos and find content I never thought I would click on. In some rare cases, some of the thumbnails this extension generates (which is a frame of the video) are more interesting than the heavily edited original thumbnails.
  • (2025-06-01) n ascentt: I love dearrow ( as well as sponsorblock). When dearrow works, it's great, but unfortunately dearrow is just too temperamental. Often showing blank titles and removes the titles entirely without replacement. whereas the Clickbait Remover for Youtube addon has always just worked without issue. I really hope the dev figures out a way to make dearrow more reliable as I love his projects.
  • (2025-05-18) Interesting: Along with correcting video titles so they're not clickbait, it has been very useful to tell if I should watch a video or not.
  • (2025-04-22) محمد جعفری: yoooo im in the thumbnail
  • (2025-04-15) Derpen Scruben: First glimpse at the extension; Will require some fine-tuning of the setup. But the ability to have it be clear when titles are altered by this; And getting to see the original title with hovering over a button? Great addition for Youtube. Consider giving some time or money to make Youtube less of a time waste for false video titles.
  • (2025-04-05) Major Canel: Best Ever
  • (2025-04-01) Rayane Jaouhari: Fantastic extension, YouTube's practically unusable without it.
  • (2025-03-27) Vector: Feels like a premium youtube now. Pure content without any trash or clickbait titles.
  • (2025-03-22) Vitamin C: Love this extension, but it seems that as of yesterday keeping it enabled breaks thumbnails completely when watching a video. Thumbnails on the homepage and embedded into the video work, but ones on the side do not. Disabling the addon in its settings doesn't resolve it, but disabling it completely in Chrome's settings resolves it.
  • (2025-03-12) Roya: The developer of DeArrow is so sweet! After adding the extension a window popped up asking to pay $1, but none of the payment options worked for me. So the extension gave me free unlimited access. This is not a paid extension, the developer is simply asking for donations and that is perfectly fine! Watching the video the developer made on DeArrow, you can tell this is a kind, sweet individual who's spending his time and effort to give something to all of us for FREE. To those complaining about the $1 payment, you need to chill. Luckily, the developer added a donation option right to the extension menu/popup. This is fantastic because it will allow to donate later when circumstance change. As for the extension itself, it has many features and options that you can tweak in the settings to make it suite you better. I don't understand them all, but hopefully with time I will. There's an option called "Casual Mode", which gives you even more control. I just got this extension so my rating is based on first impression. If I find faults with it, I'll update, but for now, it's perfect. And to the developer I say, "Thank you so much for all your efforts! You are AMAZING!"
  • (2025-03-07) Puneet Mhajan: Please make this for Firefox
  • (2025-02-27) Dolan Blozvich: Good idea but too aggressive. I'd use if there was some kind of tier system that makes submitters specify how clickbaity the thumbnail/title they're replacing were, so that way people could choose what level to filter out. Even the examples on the DeArrow website, which I imagine were cherry picked, have some perfectly good titles and thumbnails that got replaced for no reason. I also understand why the thumbnails work they way they do, but it just makes them so much worse. Being able to only filter out the bad clickbait would solve this so we could stop seeing the obnoxious thumbnails without the innocent ones being replaced by generic screenshots.
  • (2025-02-26) Arihan Jalan: Unshittifies my timeline for $1 (I gave $5). The devs gotta make money somehow- else; how are they going to host the backend to make this possible? Think, people; THINK!
  • (2025-02-02) Private Name: 0 stars, this is a paid extension that does the EXACT SAME functionality of a free extension "Clickbait Remover for Youtube" You'd have to be nutty to install and pay for this extension, just go get the free one dudes.
  • (2025-01-26) Ndi: One of those extensions that makes the internet bearable again. Worth every penny.
  • (2025-01-24) James Marsh: Really disappointed in the fact you are using license keys at all, asking for donations to keep the app alive is fine and I would probably donate same as I do with the adblock I use but I don't agree with your choice of intentionally introducing friction for people who want to use the extension without paying for it. Unfortunately, I won't be using this extension and I'll switch to a different extension with fewer features and without this artificial friction.
  • (2025-01-12) Арсен Андріїв: Great job! VERY cool extension!!!
  • (2025-01-06) Javakhir Abdunazarov: Awesome! Thank you You saved my time
  • (2025-01-05) Preetesh Shetty: Absolutely must have extension. Youtube has become unbearable without this. I need something similar when browsing youtube on my TV and/or phone.
  • (2025-01-04) Matt Nichols: okay sure, this does what it says it does—but my god, it slows down youtube like crazy! no other chrome addon hampers my browsing experience quite like this one. slows everything down to a crawl. once i disabled it? bam! the site loads up with ease.
  • (2025-01-01) David F: Works really well, a much improved youtube experience. I would like the option to 'picture-in-picture' the original thumbnail in a future update, good for recognising watched videos from mobile youtube app and some videos I want to know content and see text from original thumbnail
  • (2024-12-25) Arnav Yash Chandra: Works as advertised
  • (2024-12-08) everix: a glimpse into a more honest world
  • (2024-11-29) // ANT //: Nothing feels better than being free of all those clickbaity thumbnails lol. For all those reviews saying you need to pay: you don't, but you do need to wait 1 day for lifetime free access. Honestly I paid even after getting free access because it's just. that. good! 5/5
  • (2024-11-26) Aiden Vrenna: I demoed this for a few weeks before deciding it was definitely worth a donation. It makes YouTube so much less obnoxious, so much more pleasant. Thank you!
  • (2024-11-14) Melvin MacDonald: The extension works perfectly, as advertised. Why would I rate lower than a perfect score.
  • (2024-11-13) Josh: Charging money for a chrome extension? never in my life. Don't download, these people will steal your payment info if you actually decide to give it to them. please report this as well don't give scammers like this the opportunity to steal money from people that might not know better.
  • (2024-11-10) Gergő: Finally the cringy thumbnails are removed from YT. Thanks!
  • (2024-11-04) Eric: You are successfully registered for free access. You will be notified when free access is granted.
  • (2024-10-29) Continental Nobleman: So far it seems to be removing those awful YouTube gaping-mouth face thumbnails and arrows, such a cliche they are. So am happy with it. Thanks and rgds.
  • (2024-10-25) Null Potential: @Gofer click extension> click "replace title" toggle.
  • (2024-10-09) Agent OranJ: It's about a 50/50 as to whether the replacement titles are a descriptive improvements or just dull. DeArrow titles can be long winded doorstoppers and they can be overly concise and utterly generic. And frankly if a DeArrow title makes anyone click on a video they wouldn't have clicked on otherwise then that is a bad thing because the uploader doesn't deserve the increased viewership.
  • (2024-09-28) Iver Bogen Griffiths: I think this is gonna be really good for me, but I would like it if DeArrow didn't change lower case letters to upper case in the start of every single word.
  • (2024-09-25) Afonso Gonçalves: It's exactly what I expected, with one exception: Some perfectly reasonable, non-clickbaity videos are getting their titles reworded in weird, unnecessary ways, making the searching experience a bit clunkier than it could be. Still, it's definitely an upgrade from the sensacionalist bleh that we had. A suggestion: Enforce some slightly more solid guidelines on what constitutes a clickbait title.
  • (2024-09-25) Gale: Been using for a while, generally does it's job, but I guess at some point the permissions changed and chrome decided to turn it off until I came to this page, no notice or anything. Edit: Upon reactivation my ability to click on video progress was disabled as well as disabling the ability to skip/rewind with the arrow keys, forcing me to be unable to fast forward/rewind any video, fixed immediately upon deactivating app, which sucks cause I really liked this app.
  • (2024-09-24) r peterson: Even though the extension is interesting and the concept is admirable, community-sourced replacements to titles and thumbs are very often actively bad, with painfully awkward wording, needlessly changing titles that were perfectly descriptive and by no stretch "clickbaity" in the first place, or users deciding that simply submitting the same title but with all capitalization removed (including proper nouns) does the job. Yes of course I try to contribute when I find these issues. They're still incredibly pervasive.
  • (2024-09-23) Aria Ravenlock: Seems to be half-working in search results as of 9/23/24.
  • (2024-09-22) trafalgar: love it
  • (2024-09-19) Vivek Somani: Good extension, quite customizable. I use the setting where you don't automatically see the user-generated titles, but can click a button to show the user-generated titles of a video. It's very helpful for undescriptive titles, where you would want to get an idea of what the video is about without wasting your time and watching it if it's some clickbaity garbage.
  • (2024-09-10) Daniel Rawnsley: peace at last
  • (2024-09-06) Daniel: works well
  • (2024-09-05) Adeel Zafar: Finally something I wanted for so long, I actually don't mind many thumbnail picks, its the title that irks me the most, and this approach solves a lot especially when it comes to crowdfixing susceptible channels to clickbait. Also the extension is very well done, having the small icon showing changed titles with the ability to hover and see the original is genius. Well deserves the $1 unlimited license key as a huge thanks. Edit: This has officially changed my Youtube perusing huge time, saved me so much clickbait frustration and even incentivised to check out videos over the original titles. Cannot stop recommending.
  • (2024-09-03) Penguin: Helps me find videos I want to watch, not just avoid ones I don't want to watch. I've found super helpful or entertaining videos that just were titled wrong. "Murky divers" was titled "Lethal company 2" I thought "Lethal company 2" was either Content Warning or Scrappys Contract, neither of which i cared about. Now i get to see a cool new video i wanted to watch. Also in a series, many youtubers put different clever names for each episode, so it's hard to find "Terraria episode 3" but DeArrow fixes that. I would pay up to $30 for this, but it's free (with a $1 optional donation). Absolutely amazing.
  • (2024-08-30) Shogun's Decapitator: No more gaping-mouth huge clickbait text thumbnails. The internet is healing.
  • (2024-08-29) Urwan Michelangelo: turns off randomly for no reason
  • (2024-08-19) Liam Thompson: This is really clever, but with playlists it's kind of buggy. The playlist thumbnail is based on the auto-generated or voted thumbnail of the first video, which makes sense, but setting a new playlist thumbnail just changes the background color and not the actual image
