• (2024-10-05) David: Doesn't show up even after browser restart. There's no icon under the channel name like someone stated. Addoncrop's version is failing time and time again to appear on MS Edge. No way to uninstall that one because Edge and Chrome don't detect it as an extension. I was hoping this extension would do the same things, but it also isn't working. I think Edge, created by the most privacy invasive company on the planet, is disabling it without telling us.,

• (2024-09-11) Andy: I download. It gets added. A "Download as" menu appears in the title area of the video. But when I click on that, I just get a small blank white rectangle. No options appear. And this been happening with every single YouTube download add-on I've tried. Obviously it can't be the extension's fault, but I have no idea what's causing the problem, and there are no specific FAQs on any of the sites with the downloads. I'm stumped. The three stars are for the fact that it installs itself.

• (2024-02-17) Z: At first i thought it wasn't working because i didn't see anything, then i came to read comments and i saw Michael's comment below me. However, after a moment of looking around i realized he is just a dipstick. This app actually works just fine. So, you don't click the extension icon, right click or anything like that. Instead, a little window will appear around the channel's name/icon like below the video, and the box/window says [DOWNLOAD AS], just click that and select which option and you're good to go. Don't be a Michael...Seriously, it's not hard to figure it out.

I used to use extensions like this years ago, but in my experience, nearly all of them have degraded over the years, while website-based alternatives have grown superior. Even while filtering for Creative Commons content, I rarely got the download button with this extension, and when I did, the options were always extremely limited. I ended up using a website alternative and it worked far better while still enforcing copyright restrictions, and it provided far more options in terms of quality, audio, etc. If those were the only issues, I might've given this 2 stars, but just before uninstalling, I noticed the extension was claiming to have access to sites I had explicitly forbidden it to access. This has serious security implications, and I would not trust this extension to respect your security settings.
