Description from store
The preview extension allows you to ... preview (woah wild) webpages without having to click on a hyperlink. Just hover over a link and see where it takes you!
🪩Extremely Notable and Fancy Features: 🪩
1. You can resize the content by going to the corners of the preview content if need be!
2. You may navigate through the content and interact with the page, if you need to quickly adjust a setting without having to go into a new page, or read comments on a site, or what else you may think of that I can't right now (I'm a solo developer man give me some slack 💁)
3. To ensure safety, you have the ability to trust or not trust any website you want to preview!
4. Additionally, you may allow JavaScript scripts to run on the content or not, if you scare viewing a new site. (Scaredy cat 🐈🫵)
5. The extension does turn off after a bit if a page is inactive soooo refresh if that happens
Current version: 1.0 (Initial version ✨), new content to come soon! (Mainly features, but maybe cats??)
⚠️ Notes: ⚠️
Some websites do not allow cross-website viewing (i.e, you can only preview the link within the webpage and not externally). So viewing a newspaper site on google.com might show as forbidden, but viewing an article on said webpage will show up. This exists as a security protocol to protect the web (but is really a pain in the bum for me, in my opinion screw cybersecurity majors, bunch of nerds).
Permissions: (Just to be transparent, see my Github for source code if you wanna)
* Scripting (this allows the popup to work, know when you are hovering over a link, loads the new webpage. etc.)
* Storage (this uses sync storage to keep track of what websites you have authorized and if you allow scripts. This data is stored only in your browser/account (I can't view this, only you can!))
* Host permission (this just allows the preview to run on all pages)
