Home energy scores are added to Zillow search results. You can also see more details about a home’s insulation and heating system by clicking on an individual listing.
All data comes from Minneapolis’ Truth In Sale of Housing (TISH) energy disclosure reports.

- (2024-05-20) Mary Jo Quay: Two stars for effort, but TIH reports consist on tiny drill that checks insulation. There is no blower door test, no thermal imaging to catch drafty windows and doors. Mpls scoring is the opposite of a HERS score. HERS score celebrates the lowest scores which would be under 50 to -6 net zero. Minneapois scores the best score is 100, very confusing to buyers. MLS is just now implementing green building check boxes. It already has HERS, if it manufactured, what kind of HVAC, but if you are interested in finding green, it isn't on Zillow. Center for Energy and Efficiency does real energy inspections that does include a blower door test, leaky windows, insulation so you have a clue, and it costs about $100.
