(2019-12-16) Nathan Harman: Here is why this Sparkchess is completely stupid and really annoying. Basically you either play Cody who anyone can destroy, or you play Clair, who destroys you every time. To get someone in the middle of both extremes, you have to pay! So basically this is the most pointless game without paying unless you find it fun to destroy Cody in no time or lost EVERY time to Clair. And who wants to pay $15 to play a stupid game of chess. Not me! I can literally play as many games as I want for free with an average difficulty other places. Not to mention how HORRIBLE the adds are! So please don't waste your time on something as pointless as this. I'd recommend leaving a 1 star review too so more people will avoid frustration.

I understand that publishers need money, but video ads before you can even start the app or after every single game gets very discouraging for casual players. I am more than aware of adblock, but I feel that does a disservice to the commerce of the web. Also note to publisher, there has been a glitch with pawns moving two spaces ahead (in multiplayer) to avoid opposing pawn capture, but then get captured anyway due to the two space move somehow being registered as a single move forward.

(2017-03-15) Great game, I have to suggest it to any chess player, young or old, novice or grand master. I don't have a huge amount of experience with chess so I play on the lower levels of difficulty. The ads are annoying, but if you consider the quality of the app, it gets easy to look past them.

(2016-10-31) This was the first functioning game I downloaded from the appstore. It had to be free, of course. When I first opened the game, I had to pick Claire. Personal preferences, honestly. She plays with personality! Eventually I tried Cody and found that he sacrifices his pieces way too often for me to take his character seriously. Then I tried Boris while thinking it was Cody and surprisingly did good. This game is fit for any mental exercise at varying intensities. Saves on the pressure of communication in a chess game in this reality. We should all get the best of both worlds... Our world and simulation.
