HaramBlur is a free, open-source extension to help you avoid "Haram" and NSFW images, videos and sites.
HaramBlur helps you uphold the Islamic gaze protection principle by customizing your online experience to avoid Fitnah.
HaramBlur utilizes Machine Learning to detect "Haram" content in images and videos in real-time, automatically blurring them to keep your browsing experience distraction-free and as "Halal" as possible.
It also blocks inappropriate/Haram sites.
You can easily configure the detection type, blur intensity, strictness level, toggle the extension on or off.

- Assalamu Alaykum, What an amazing app this is. May Allah reward you immensely for it. I wanted to share a constructive suggestion regarding the image-blurring feature. It appears that the AI algorithm may be overly focused on detecting faces of the opposite gender when deciding whether to apply a blur. I noticed this because images that do not contain faces, but still show other parts of the body not covered, are sometimes not blurred at all. This makes it seem that face detection might be weighted more heavily than overall body or contextual detection. You may want to consider expanding or balancing the detection logic so that non-face imagery that still falls under the same criteria is handled more consistently. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly appreciate the work you’ve done on this app.

- BaarakAllaah feek, if you could make an even higher setting for the blurring, or making the box in the background color all together if would be even better. It is slow in detection for immediate scene switches in videos, maybe adding a latency to video display of 1s for processing? Maybe a very big question :)

- May Allah reward you and the ones who contributed to the making and the publicity of the extension. I love the idea and I appreciate the effort. I know it is easier to say this than to actually make it happen, but I truly hope that you are still working on improving it. A lot of times the extension falsely blurs men (who are apparently usually not feminine), which forces me to disable the extension. I can see the improvement though, I remember it from last year or a few months ago hardly blurring anything that moves, not it's much better. Thank you. Still waiting for the iOS version though!

- Its amazing, we think that lowering gaze is only for public places. Nowadays people only use INTERNET and its easier to see NON MEHRAMs and people don't see it as anything bad, THIS EXTENSION IS PERFECT. JazakALLAH Khaira.

- (sorry for bad english it is not my main language)It is a good extension overall and if fullfils its purpose of blocking all suggestive content,but it almost blurs every pixel of woman on the internet and also has some false positives with some objects that arent even human and men but it doesnt occur that often,it can be annoying but i dont think it has affected my productivity ,i recomend it if you are truly desperate for beating your adult content addictions and you have zero will power to control yourself like me and you are willing to take radical solutions,i know it is not perfect but it has worked for me and i know it could improve and not blur things that shouldnt be blurred but we cant blame the devs,it must be almost impossible to program it to have no mistakes,especially if we consider that this is a free extension,i also recommend making a reg editor entry to prevent us from deleting the extension when ever you feel urges(you can ask chat gpt for help if you want to do it)
