UPDATE: If you were an user before the update and the extension got disabled, that's normal behavior by Google, it's so an extension can't silently escalate its privileges with an update, in this case FadBlock accessing extensionpay.com for those who want to contribute, nothing else. Nothing to be scared about. You can read the new permissions to make sure nobody's pulling any funny business.
NOTE: And for those who are alarmed about the "Read and change your data" permission, it's not accessing any of your data, it's just to access the YouTube and YouTube Music (new feature!) tabs as it was doing before. You can read the documentation to make sure that's the case,
This is the permission required for an extension to work with the browser's tabs. This includes viewing the URL of an open tab. The permission does not give access to your actual browser history itself, but technically any extension with this permission could monitor tab URLs as they changed and construct its own history, so that's why the warning is phrased that way. If an extension asks for permission to access the actual browser history data, the warning should read "Read and change your BROWSING HISTORY...".

This blocker is designed to monitor advertisements, automatically seek the ads and skip them on YouTube and YouTube Music as well. It's important to note that this doesn't classify as traditional ad blocking, as the ad content is technically "loaded".
Nevertheless, the extension's underlying logic enables it to fast-forward through the ad content to its conclusion. The entire process is optimized to occur within an extremely brief timeframe, typically <=50 milliseconds, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted user experience.
FEATURES:
This extension effectively eliminates all categories of YouTube and YouTube Music advertisements:
Category 1: Ads visible on the homepage.
Category 2: Ads overlaid atop the suggested video list.
Category 3: Ads displayed below the video description.
> Starting on April 6th, 2023, the “Overlay ads” ad format will no longer appear on YouTube to help improve the viewer experience and shift engagement to higher performing ad formats on desktop and mobile devices. Overlay ads are a legacy ad format that only served on desktop and are disruptive for viewers.
Category 4: Skippable 5-second-must-be-watched video ads, which may be positioned at the video's start, midway, or at the end.
Category 5: Ads similar to Category 4, but with two consecutive video ads instead of one.
Category 6: Inescapable 10-second video ads, which must be watched.

- (2023-11-19) Nine Rogers: Clever solution to the problem. Works fine on Brave – ads flash up for only a fraction of a second before the video resumes, which I can live with. Remember to turn other adblockers off for YouTube. Kudos to the developer. To others whining about the new bug that makes Youtube go crazy, show a little patience. This is Google's fault for borking the code, not the developer's, and he's working hard to fix it. Sheesh. I've paid because I believe in him. This is a person trying his best that some of you are hating on.

- (2023-11-19) Angus Wong: It works (60~70% of the time), but it also adds its own overlay (also known as advertisement) urging you to pay 6$ as a donation sort of the thing almost everytime you opens up YT. That overlay is quite annoying and cannot be deleted via regular overlay blocker. I still managed to make that "paying" overlay invisible with my own ways though.

- (2023-11-16) The Indoor Outdoorsman: Works well enough, still had several interrupts from ads and on a few instances it totally failed to block it. Now though, it's become adware. No one is going to pay you to keep this going, especially so early on in the game of YouTube going full bore against ad blockers. Why would anyone spend $6 on something that may stop working the minute they make that purchase? I understand needing support to keep it going, but the message is more intrusive than the ads FAdBlock is meant to block, which defeats the entire purpose of having it! Suggestion, drop the message to once every six hours instead of every time any YouTube page loads. I feel compelled to update my review because there's been some important developments. 11/16/2023. Now it either will not work at all, or it will work, but also skips the video itself as well. When it skips the video itself, it also causes it to play without sound. Yet the developer is still asking for money with the popups. This is my breaking point. I'm uninstalling and looking for a different solution.

- (2023-11-14) KG11: The extension does what it's supposed to do so no complaints on that part but it does make my YT very slow to the point it becomes unresponsive. Playlists/History/Shorts/Watch later tabs seem to take a long time to load also. I tested this with a control version with zero adblocks installed and all of the above was working fine so it's definitely not my device. If these issues can be resolved then the extension is perfect.

- (2023-11-14) Rod Weiler: It was very good for a while. Then it stopped working for me around 3-4 days ago. "No big deal" I said to myself, thinking it just needs to be patched. However, as of the day of writing this ad, I can see the extension's been updated and the first thing I'm treated to on YouTube is a disgusting banner ad on top and an unskippable 15-second ad before the first video I click. This one has potential, and even an inherent entertaining factor as it's funny how the ads flash in front of you for a split second like some subliminal messages. But as a daily YT user I cannot wait for patches this long. Besides, the expansion leaves a lot to be desired - an ability to whitelist favorite channels; not advertising it's pro licence through an intrusive pop-up.

It now only sometimes work, and the rest of the time I need to restart the extension / browser / both to have it start working again.
