Speech Translator

Translate any video, audio or livestream in real-time. Core features are completely free to use with no registration required!

This extension uses speech recognition technology, powered by Microsoft, to convert speech from any source into text: the transcribing process. Then it translates the text from one language to another using your preferred translation service.

You can use it for:

We’ve added new features to make language learning safer for kids, multilingual streaming easier, alongside introducing tailored solutions for schools and organizations:

• Profanity Filter: Automatically masks offensive words and catches accidental speech-recognition mistakes to ensure a kid-friendly experience. Includes built-in multi-language dictionaries and custom word lists.
• Read Aloud for Microphone: The extension can now read aloud the translation of what you say into the mic—great for language learning and pronunciation practice.

• Detect Language from Transcript: Perfect for bilingual streamers and mixed-language content. Simply set your primary language and let the translation service automatically handle occasional language switches.

⚡ Version 1.0 Highlights

We have completely rebuilt the extension to make it easier to set up, alongside adding highly requested features:

• More Audio Sources: You can now capture audio directly from your Current Browser Tab, your entire Desktop, or your Input Audio Device (Microphone/VoiceMeeter).
• Translation Read Aloud (TTS): The extension can now read translations out loud, automatically lowering the volume of the original audio so you can hear clearly.
• Compact View Mode: A clean, subtitle-style display format with dynamically calculated display timing (perfect for OBS overlays).
• More Translation Engines: Choose from the world's leading translation services (such as Google, Bing, Papago, DeepL and others) to get the best translation for your language.
• Offline Speech Recognition (Chrome Only): Process speech directly on your device with zero latency — no internet connection required!
• Dual Translation: Translate your speech into two different languages and display them alongside each other at the same time.

Free & Premium

While the core functionality of Speech Translator is completely free, we now offer Premium Upgrades for users who need advanced capabilities (like Desktop Capture, Offline Mode, or premium translation engines).

Privacy & Security

We take your data seriously. If you use the free version with default settings, all speech processing happens safely inside your browser or via secure Google APIs. If you create an account to use Premium translation engines, your transcribed text is only ever shared with the specific translation service you explicitly select. We never store your audio or translated text on our servers.
