• (2024-01-12) Anjola Adeboye: Finally! After searching for a Youtube caption search that allows me some flexibility - I found it! This app is much more customizable than the others I've found on here and I'm so thankful. For example, I can finally toggle between case-sensitive or not - which shouldn't matter but makes all the difference when watching a read-along, or code-review. Additionally, I speak multiple languages and the precision of some caption searches tanks the second I switch to a different language. While this is can be attributed as a feature of Youtube's auto-generated api, the issue still presents even if the creator has their own captions. It's like some people forget to take into account the rules of different languages. This app is still not great - but so much better than the others I've found thus far. Overall, as someone who codes a lot for school and work, I find this add-on incredibly helpful. I often watch videos at 2x speed, and find it tedious to skip through tutorials that lack time-stamps so finding an extension that allowed me to search in multiple languages accurately was a game changer. The add-on does a 9/10 job in english, and around a 7/10 in the other languages I use most frequently (french for videos). This is especially noticeable if the captions are auto-generated and the host is speaking with a thick accent. Much better than others I've found but still room for improvement. I'm very happy with this extension and hope to see more updates.
