  • (2020-12-09) Joshua Robison: The app is worth more than one star but I don't want to file bug reports or email the dev. If you used your own app you would know that it is VERY BUGGY. Sometimes the buttons don't even work when clicking on them or touching them etc. The buttons also are WAY TOO SMALL. At the same time it is disappointing because this is the most promising app in my mind for editing text on a chromebook. I really hope it get's fixed. I'll be right back around to give it 5 stars.
  • (2017-11-01) Paul L: Bizarre interface (horrible actually) and for some reason only runs in full screen. FAIL, deleted.
  • (2017-09-10) Evan Meeks: I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Essentially something that gives me the same content editing capabilities as Gmail does. This is perfect for this.
  • (2017-07-03) Kalina Coutee: It seems like exactly what I've been searching for but... Maybe I'm just dumb as a bag of rocks but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use this thing. I try and try to type but no letters show up no matter what I do or where I click and i don't know what I'm doing wrong. None of the buttons do anything to help. I know it's got to be something I'm doing and not the fault of the app but man it's just not being user friendly for me.
  • (2017-07-03) Cody Diehl: Yes this is the best text editor web application for Chromebook. By FAR! But seriously!? Full Screen or nothing... what is that about? I need to place it on one side of the screen and a web browser for resources on the other side of the screen. Dont tell me to use minify, that is a joke. Either super tiny little tab with no options, or full screen. That is not reasonable, allow me to resize the window. What is it hurting to prevent us from resizing?
  • (2016-12-23) Lisa J Schoop: interesting organization -it takes a bit of time to get used to it, but once you do its great
  • (2016-11-20) Lillee Harper: I loved the app, until I couldn't access two days worth of work because my computer doesn't 'support this type of file'. Over 1500 words just lost. Now I have to find an app that can open this type of file? Where do I even find something like that? This had such good ratings and seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, but I suppose if something sounds too good to be true it must be so. Would not recommend this to anyone.
  • (2016-11-12) Jack: This app is completely uncluttered, easy to use and by far the most beautiful word processor app I've used.
  • (2016-11-08) Marcos Álvarez: The best and most beautiful interface I've ever seen in a note taking app.
  • (2016-10-12) Yecine Errahal: Excellent application!
  • (2016-09-22) Best professionnal and useful text editor
  • (2016-09-17) Graham Sanders: Just what I was looking for. The entry system is a powerful way to organize all the different moving parts of a large document.
  • (2016-08-24) Len Sorstokke: It was a bit difficult to search for and find this app but I'm glad I found this one! Ain't has the best features for my needs at the moment and believe this has improved since I first tried it! I now set up my screen with a browser on the right and the minimal Ain't on the left -- Excellent setup! Being able to select different 'entries' in the same project file is a fantastic feature! Big thank you to the developer -- It is definitely worth a donation (or two)!
  • (2016-08-06) Midas: Awesome. Does what it sets out to do. Two things on my wishlist: 1) paragraph spacing 2) word count to be always visible. Otherwise, great app!
  • (2016-08-06) Tony Koval: Great application name. Great logo. Great idea. I've already complained about the idea of a .aint file. Aside from that, there is no readability. The font should be changed to something more readable. Courier New or Courier might work better. If the font is changeable, forgive me. The only two features I enjoy about this application are the text-to-speech option, which makes editing easier, and the word count. Thanks for grouping those two things together.
  • (2016-07-05) Airon de Souza: Its a very powerfull app, but have some bugs.
  • (2016-05-25) Marco Torrano: Excelent. Need add "PDF - EXPORT" and FOOTNOTE.
  • (2016-05-19) Ning Cao: good
  • (2016-04-26) Johnny Smith: There are some few glitches here and there, but overall the best word Chrome app so far... And it seem to consume the least CPU.
  • (2016-02-29) Christopher Elrod: Will not open .rtf files
  • (2016-02-03) Sunny Suh: At first I was a little confused but I've been loving it so much until just now, when I tried to paste something on the note pad part, the app crashed.... I don't know what to do but it keeps happening even after I restarted my laptop. I wish I knew what's wrong but before that, I wish it didn't crash... :/
  • (2016-01-31) Charlize: one of the most feature-rich writing apps on the chrome market...except that it's missing the ability to print. how on earth was such a basic feature missed?
  • (2016-01-14) ace o: This is an amazing app. I don't know what I'd do without it!!
  • (2015-12-30) Zandraius: OH MY GODS ABOVE BELOW AND AROUND ME! FINALLY I HAVE A GREAT APP TO WORK WITH IN SOLITUDE! i only ask for one thing. please add more fonts please! thank you!
  • (2015-12-22) Brandi Spencer: This piece of garbage has eaten pieces of my work TWICE! Regardless of any other good features, the bare minimum I expect from an app like this is to not have large chunks of text disappear overnight. If it wasn't free, I'd be demanding a refund. The first time it happened, I tried going through support. It's been a month, and I've still had no reply. I hoped that maybe it was a one-time glitch or a mistake on my part. Then it happened again. It looks like I'll be shopping for a more reliable app.
  • (2015-12-16) Steven Upton: This app has a lot of potential for being being the goto editor for writers. There are some missing features though and I have seen others comment on a few of the too. - Cannot import fonts - There is no indication of what format settings are currently selected - Shortcuts for custom formatting - Word/character count Another thing I would like to see improved is for the application to take up the whole screen (it seems to currently leave a thin, distracting gap around the edge). Also when I click on an empty page I expect the insertion point to go to the last available line.
  • (2015-12-09) Tearthy Flame: Ain't it Beautiful!? Ain't, has a learning curve but isn't at all extremely difficult for a person familiar with Microsoft Word and files, ect. But some things are still a curve, at least for me. I need to look into how a Entry can be used and how it functions. Also it's a great way for someone to begin serious writing without needing to pay for software that's way to expensive. No one should do serious writing in Notepad. I encourage that anyone looking into Ain't should try it out and see what it can do. But you'll most likely need something different in order to print it out on paper if you need physical copies. -Have a sunny day and happy writing.
  • (2015-11-11) Lilly And Fct: So, I got this file for school. No biggie, just need something to open it. It said it was a quote, "Rich Text Editor," so I tried to open a Rich Text File. If you are wondering what that is, it is a type of text file from the late eighties, but nobody really uses it anymore. Except for this one class. SO I AM HERE! At the appstore! I find Ain't. I haven't gone and done word files yet, as I am sure it'll likely work, but I went to open my file and it didn't work. I felt as if I've been lied to. And I read the help, and I'm feeling a bit dissapointed, but on the bright side, I got a sweet writing program that I can use as an alternative to Google Docs if I end up being offline for any reason. ~Lilly Geneva
  • (2015-11-10) Nicolas Stagliano: At first, I totally loved it. However, the search function is messed up. Why should capitalisation matter in a search engine? Like I'm going to remember whether or not my notes are capitalised. Psh. Also, the text size feature is screwed up. I want to change the text size of a single word, not the entire document!
  • (2015-11-02) Alice Brown: This application is excellent. Particularly because I have a Chromebook that has no access to pretty much anything while offline, this app is ideal, as it runs, and saves, offline, which is exactly what I need. The layout is easy to get the grips of and it is very clear how to use it. The only thing I haven't seen is a word count, which would be very useful. Would definitely recommend!
  • (2015-10-23) Dale Wheatley: UPDATE: There is no usable search function. My docs are 20K words or larger so it's crucial to navigate via search when receiving notes on my work and so on. I reached out to the dev many weeks ago with no response whatsoever. Which is fine and all but as a result of this crucial feature being broken I'm back looking for an editor. Hope it gets fixed--I thought I finally found a reliable editor. Bummer. Brilliant! Would love to have .fountain exort and Courier Prime font for screenwriters but five stars as is--love it!
  • (2015-10-12) Chris Mongan: Thank you so much. I have loved Chromebooks. But I have really gone off using them for writing other than emails - I lost a lot of writing on holiday earlier in the year using one in a dodgy wi-fi situation. But this app restores my love in spades. It actually works offline just fine, whereas the promise of others do not. Anyone reading this, download this app and join the converted. An easy 5 Stars.
  • (2015-10-04) Eve Matsuoka: AWESOME!
  • (2015-10-02) Ryan Yamamoto: Great app. Download it if you need a local word processor
  • (2015-09-04) Victor Cruz: Great app with lots of formatting features. Offline functionality only makes it more awesome! Wish you'd add the ability to install/add other fonts. :) Keep up the good work.
  • (2015-09-03) Devin Lawrence: Does what it advertises, does it well. Probably the best Offline compatible Word Processor you're gonna find for a chromebook because... well, just look at the slogan. As a writer myself, I'd say I'm pretty happy with it.
  • (2015-08-09) Sabrine Assem: Perfect! One of the best apps ever created for the Chromebook. Thanks a lot :)
  • (2015-06-10) Nadia Corinna: One very important feature seems to be missing: word count! I want to use this app for NaNoWriMo - it seemed like the perfect tool until I realised there was no word count. It's too much hassle to copy and paste into another app with a word count feature or export constantly to check my word count. Please, please, add word count.
  • (2015-06-07) Carlos Eduardo Morreo: This is a good app that needs a bit more work. I have now been using it for a couple of hours and have noticed a couple of minor things: 1) When resizing the main writing box, a glitch can happen. 2) The contrast between the black and the white in the night mode is not strong enough. (I don't mean to plug another app here, but the contrast in <txt>, for instance, is lovely.) But, like others, am pleased about the fact that there is a RTF-like app for writers on chromebooks. Finally, a global search, throughout all files, which can search on hitting enter, rather than clicking on 'search'. I look forward to further iterations of the app.
  • (2015-06-05) Alex Culp: gorgeous
  • (2015-06-01) Vallory Kyrie: I really love this app and how it doesn't make me do a whole bunch of stuff I don't want or need while having plenty of personality to match the epic s%#* I write. I love the different themes - they are perfect. Seriously. Thanks so much.
  • (2015-04-27) Simon Gallings: Great app! Just needs: Global notepad and a notepad local to the entry auto capitalization and auto paragraph indent export all feature
  • (2015-04-10) Brennon Meadows: Made by a writer for writers indeed. I had all but given up on using my Chromebook for journaling, or anything creative/personal. While Google Docs is excellent, the auto-syncing with some faceless cloud server out in God-knows-where makes me incredibly nervous. There is no way I would trust my personal writing on some cloud, regardless of how much I trusted the company over it. So, I spent a long time looking for an app that could accommodate some basic writing, and keep my stuff offline and private...weirdly I found literally nothing. Every "notepad" app I found was either too basic or had the same problem of syncing to something or other; of putting my writing somewhere I didn't want it to be. If you find yourself in the same situation I was in, do yourself a favor and download this. It has all the features you need for basic writing, and the auto-saving to my flashdrive (where I keep the .aint files) is priceless. This app is truly a god-send. Keep up the good work!
  • (2015-04-02) a cat: Sweet! Since I'm a writer *gestures with wine glass*, this is something I've been needing for a long time. Most offline text editors available for Chrome are crap, but this isn't crap.
  • (2015-03-30) Brett Benischek: Finally, a word processor for chrome that: 1) doesn't lag, and 2) Has the ability to add italics, bold, and underline. There are two things that I want, however. Please add the Times New Roman font, and please add the ability to export as .doc! These things are standard in word processors, if you add them this will be perfect for me! Thank you!
  • (2015-02-23) Fuzzy Goldfish: This program does an excellent job of supporting long writing sessions. I appreciate the focus on simplicity and the features that are present are excellent. I was a little leery of the proprietary file format at first, but it appears to be easy to salvage basic rich text using a text editor should something go awry. This is the program I've been looking for for a while. Thanks for writing it!
  • (2015-02-20) Leon Niceday: It's nice, offline Rich text editor.. Hope this improves though. 1. Different heading levels? 2. Better import/export of html. At least for me, interchangeability with other well = known formats like html is a must (gdoc does not work offline) 3. TOC? But, again, it's a good start!
  • (2015-01-21) Jeremy Stutsman: I love it! Finally a decent rich-text editor for Chromebook with tabs and all that I need. Bravo!
  • (2014-11-03) Adrian Fox: Amazed this hasn't been more used yet! I have been looking for a 'proper' word processing application since I moved to Chromebook, and this Rich Text application does exactly what I want in choosing fonts, formatting text and saving and so on. The page design leaves a little to be desired and the changing of fonts should be more prominent rather than tucked away in the 'gear' icon. I can see myself using this a lot, especially as it is off line. I can always save my documents to the 'Cloud' via Google Drive of course.
