• (2024-10-25) Damien Austin: This was a wonderful tool to have on our Chromebooks. As other reviews have said, we can no longer launch the app. It keeps saying "can't create default account." Sadly, I am looking for alternative options at this point. This happens on both our student and staff Chromebooks.

• (2024-02-14) Siobhan Clark (Follower of Christ): this app has actually been wonderful and I have a lot of "notes" on it but I tried to just open it and it says that loading and then creating account and then could not create default account, it may be a bad network connections, please try again later. I have tried multiple times, no problems with my network and there are many many things I need to retrieve from the app that I cannot get anywhere else as well as the beginning of a book I am writing and so losing everything would be detrimental to my mental health and my life in general, so please help me so I can retrieve this info and give you 5 stars!

I did try a few others when I experienced an error preventing me from using the app when I switched to another Chromebook in late 2022 laptop. I read the may people who were having the same problem I was experiencing, but I kept trying to load the Mic Note app periodically. Finally, a few weeks ago it loaded and has bee working flawlessly since. My experience now is back to a 5 star performance. UPDATE: May 2, 2018 Still Using! I haven not found anything else close, certainly nothing better. I like this program very much. I use it to type notes of meetings rather than handwriting. The approximate time sync helps when reviewing (listening near the timestamp) notes to verify something my notes do not make clear. I discovered an additional feature that allows me to record and take notes on the audio from another tab. This rates absolutely as a 5 star application. Well worth my one time payment of $10.00.

• (2022-03-12) Rosemary McGowan: I am updating my 2016 review in which I talked about some issues but also mentioned that the app was well worth it even with issues. Now today I can't get Mic Note to link with Google Drive but I have it linked to Dropbox so I do have my files in the cloud and I can sync across my laptops. I would like to see this app in Google Play Store. Also I would like to see it updated. I'm afraid this app will stop working or no longer available as it is in the Chrome Web Store right now. This app is the only one I have found works for me. Allow me to explain my use and perhaps someone with the know how can update or let us users know of an alternative. I use the app for learning Spanish. Specifically I create output in text first in English and typed in the text section. Then I create text in Spanish. Once done I then record it in Spanish. I won't go further into detail because I have more steps. The tools for the audio, eg timestamp is useful as well. Maybe I should do a video because it's too complicated to get into here. This is something every language learner could make use of and I don't see it being used to its greatest potential. How do I get that message out? And how do I get someone to update it and improve things like the Google Drive link. I have seen others losing all their notes which must be so frustrating. It shouldn't happen if we are saving files in the Google Drive or Dropbox. If anyone know of another app allowing text to be saved and audio recordings with similiar controls, please let us know but in the meantime I sincerely hope this app if given a new life. It has all the bases covered, yes it could use some improvements but I don't know how. It could be updated to use audio to create text in a foreign language to practice speaking. So much potential. PLEASE DON'T LET IT BECOME OBSOLETE. Forgot to mention I'm a Pro User and would continue to provide support if it was updated and expanded.
• (2021-09-06) A. Torres Ca.: For some reason, I can´t get back all the notes I took. I´ve lost extremely important notes! I contacted the support team on August 15th and haven´t received an answer from them yet, today is September 6. The app was awesome to me. I used to love it, but if I knew that there was a chance to lose all my files and that the support team is absent, I would never use it. I don´t recommend it. Hopefully, someone from the support team sees this review and help me get back all my files.

• (2021-03-12) August 6th (DracoNonDeo): It was exactly what I wanted. Then when I was looking though the extra fetchers I saw things I was not expecting but dissed to use. But it turned out that most of them you had to pay to get... Closest I have ever come to paying money for something like this.

• (2020-01-29) Stephen Burke: paid for a volume license for 20 users. user said there was an error asked us to ask paypal for a refund when we did paypal said treebeard never replied and closed our case. we tried repeatedly to email for this to be resolved and received no answer. Glad we only paid for the initial 20 users instead of more. buyers beware.

• (2019-09-27) Linda D. Lewis: I use MicNote for my journaling because it's so easy to capture my thoughts verbally then transcribe. Conversely, I can write out bullet points, then talk. Either way, I get the job done.
