This psychometric questionnaire is designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. Based on Carl Jung's personality types, the tool determines the attitude types and consciousness.
This application is targeted at getting your personality type as viewed by your friends and colleagues. This will get you a perspective of how others judge your personality type. You can also invite others to take this test and see their personality types after they agree to share the results.
According to Jung, the psyche is an apparatus for adaptation and orientation, and consists of a number of different psychic functions.
- Extraverts are action oriented, while introverts are thought oriented.
- Extraverts seek breadth of knowledge and influence, while introverts seek depth of knowledge and influence.
- Extraverts often prefer more frequent interaction, while introverts prefer more substantial interaction.
- Extraverts recharge and get their energy from spending time with people, while introverts recharge and get their energy from spending time alone.
Sensing and intuition are the information-gathering (perceiving) functions.
-Individuals who prefer sensing are more likely to trust information that is in the present, tangible and concrete
- Sensing individuals tend to distrust hunches, which seem to come "out of nowhere. They prefer to look for details and facts. For them, the meaning is in the data.
- Individuals who prefer intuition tend to trust information that is more abstract or theoretical, that can be associated with other information (either remembered or discovered by seeking a wider context or pattern). They may be more interested in future possibilities. They tend to trust those flashes of insight that seem to bubble up from the unconscious mind.
Thinking and feeling are the decision-making (judging) functions.
- Those who prefer thinking tend to decide things from a more detached standpoint, measuring the decision by what seems reasonable, logical, causal, consistent and matching a given set of rules.
- Those who prefer feeling tend to come to decisions by associating or empathizing with the situation, looking at it 'from the inside' and weighing the situation to achieve, on balance, the greatest harmony, consensus and fit, considering the needs of the people involved.
This fourth preference pair, Judging and Perceiving, describes how you like to live your outer life; what are the behaviors others tend to see? Do you prefer a more structured and decided lifestyle (Judging) or a more flexible and adaptable lifestyle (Perceiving)
Find out which combination of the above traits you possess.

- (2014-01-03) E B: The pie chart analysis is incorrectly done and therefore misleading. The results were put into a pie chart, with a legend of four colors representing the four strongest results (note: my J/P were equally 50/50, and the chart displayed J). Introverted was marked as 68% in my chart's legend, yet it appeared as perhaps only 10% of the pie chart. Same for Intuition, which was 83% (with 32% E) yet was displayed as perhaps 15% of the pie chart. The way the pie chart is set up, it gives the impression that if my personality were to be divided up, I would mainly be a Judging person and then largely Feeling, with an extremely small amount of Intuition and Introversion. This is despite the fact that intuition was my largest result. The pie chart is not a good way to interpret the results of this type of a test and I recommend that the designer/programmer restructures results into a different type of chart.
- (2013-05-23) C B (Cher895): A good test. There are several sites around the net that explain the different personality types. The app would be better if it gave a list of trusted sites for further information. Thanks for making this app - I enjoyed taking the test.
