Description from store
CIRC is an IRC client in the form of a packaged Chrome app. It uses chrome APIs to implement features not found in other web IRC clients:
* Connect directly to any IRC server - no proxy server needed
* Remember your nick and what channels you were last in on any device
* Use the same IRC connection simultaneously on multiple devices
* Scripting that syncs across all devices
* Desktop notifications
* SSL server support

- (2023-12-18) Orville Eastland: Was a wonderful app and worked quite well...then Google decided to make it ChromeOS only and ruined any chance of my using it again...
- (2023-04-01) Daniel Ratliff: I would really like to have the ability to save my undernet login and have it log me into the undernet upon connect. Still CIRC is a great app that does exactly what we all wanted for our Chromebooks.
- (2022-09-24) Moike: No dark mode
- (2020-01-27) David A Thurber: can not change font size or use acessabilties
- (2018-11-03) Don M: It's simple and does the job, but lacks features and documentation. The developers Github page is void of any real info other than when they set this up and looks like they built it and lost interest or expected others to make it work.
- (2018-04-18) Rena Cruz: Like the app but I'd like to see some notification added in. Audible or pop up.
- (2018-03-13) Sasha “Sabïn” Juchna: Doesn't connect
- (2017-12-15) Brett: This program works well, but I'm giving it only 3 stars because it interfered with opening my external protocol handlers--e.g., I couldn't open a link from Thunderbird or Quiver into Chrome anymore... If fixed, I'd give it 5 stars. (EDIT: Strange, though after uninstalling, the problem immediately disappeared, now after installing again to write this review, it is ok again--I'll give it 4 stars, but there is some condition that made it reject the external protocol)
- (2017-06-08) Good, simple client. However, does not have file transfer support for Chromebooks.
- (2017-01-18) Jack Manning: All around solid irc client. Love the simplicity. I Would like to have a night theme or one or two other color themes to choose from.
- (2016-12-15) Logan Henrie: It's a great app, and does exactly what I need it to! Simple enough to get everything done, and avoid all the junk some of the other ones have.
- (2016-12-05) Alex Askerman: Very under developed. Doesn't even open for irc:// links
- (2016-11-27) dm 1184: Popup notifications are a step above the other clients I use, but clickable channels would be nice; also would like an auto log-in feature.
- (2016-09-02) Jennifer Ordoñez: Works. Very very basic, though. I need something with some type of notification, either visual or audible. Ended up switching to a different app because of that. Edit: Switched back after I couldn't use ZNC with the other app. Functionality is more important than features, but I really wish this app had more options and features.
- (2016-08-05) Nathan Prewett (Screwyluie): it's a little too simple, but it works
- (2016-07-07) Talhah Hussain: I keep on trying to launch the app, but it just won't open. Please fix this.
- (2016-06-16) Aaron C: Works okay but notification settings would be nice. It's almost too basic.
- (2016-06-08) Alexander Ivanov: Nice and simple thing that works!
- (2016-06-03) Calliope NJO: It's the basic and simple design that I enjoy.
- (2016-05-28) Paul Bogen: Alright IRC channel, unintuatuive interactions, no channel list ui.
- (2016-05-22) Andrew Irino: This is really simple. For what it does it works, though.
- (2016-05-16) Alfred Morgan: I like the basic and simple design. It's just enough to get by. I found out how to auto identify using this format /server <znc_ip_adress> <port> <username_znc>:<password_znc>
- (2016-05-07) Judi Stutz: Needs to be made more user friendly, like with a way to exit channels and end /whois with a click. Needs a choice of sound on or off.
- (2016-04-10) Anna Mecher: it is so bad
- (2016-02-11) Aaron Shapiro: simple bare bones irc client.
- (2016-02-04) Ronald Bartle: I find no circ anywhere after downloading/installing it!?
- (2016-01-26) Sayed Iftekhar: Nice. However, settings are not easily accessible. Right click options can be added.
- (2016-01-24) Yoshi Tanda: character set "ISO-2022-JP" not supported. and there are no menus to which character set is changed. :-(
- (2016-01-18) William Welsh: This app works great! I searched up IRC and this was the first that popped up. It works as expected. Great job!
- (2016-01-12) Henry M: Buggy as hell (at least on linux) - cant stay open for too long or the text area starts jumping when you move mouse from text area to rooms area.
- (2016-01-06) Richard Hagen: Perfect except one little thing, I want to filter out quit/joind and left messages... Except for this its the best/simples client I have ever tried! Richard
- (2016-01-03) Adrià Vilanova Martínez: This app is great! The best, simplest and most reliable IRC client available. In OS X there are very few reliable open-source IRC clients, so this is the solution. Kudos to the developer!
- (2015-11-19) Barry Kaufman: Just wish I could launch this in a tab instead of a window. Not bad otherwise. If you need all IRC features though, you should get an actual IRC app
- (2015-11-13) Jayden C: Extreme security risk! A poorly written, ugly, and uncustomizable IRC client. It launches from Chrome but doesn't work within the framework of Chrome meaning all of your privacy settings (tor, tunnelbear, etc) are redundant and your raw IP address is exposed to all. For people looking for privacy this is the worst IRC client I've found so far. It's also hideous, doesn't allow your Chrome theme to apply it's settings, and just generally looks like a wart.
- (2015-10-09) Carol: wish you could blow up the font on this app...the print is so small in the chatroom i go to i last 10 min before i need to rest my eyes
- (2015-10-08) Brandon “᛬ᛒᚱᚨᚾᛞᛟᚾ᛫ᛋᛏᛖᚹᚨᚱᛏ᛬” S: Works as intended. Simple, clean, fun.
- (2015-09-27) Kenny Kant: Really Really needs to be able to put the interface into standard Chrome tab. Maybe I am missing something...
- (2015-09-26) Mikey D: Great Chrome app. How do I turn the background black. White kills my eyes at night.
- (2015-09-23) Michael “Slaine” Fullerton: Features were so limited.
- (2015-09-07) David Bandel: No direct way to even launch the application. You literally have to come here to the extension page to launch the app. Doesn't directly connect to anything. Very very bad app.
- (2015-09-05) Hayden Jones: Almost zero functionality...
- (2015-09-01) Adam Labranche: This is exactly the kind of IRC client I want.
- (2015-08-29) Peter Newman: Really promising, but I get "tlsError: Could not parse certificate list" when I try to connect to my server.
- (2015-08-28) Star Light: It cannot get, download, the file sent from other people. So poor.
- (2015-08-20) Aaron Brindley: A setting to disable notifications would be nice.
- (2015-08-12) Thom Tiber: Nice IRC exention :)
- (2015-08-02) Noneya Business: A bit rough to learn, but it's pretty good. My only issue with it is it can't seem to download files.
- (2015-08-01) Shaun J: Great but it really needs more options, especially auto connect commands!
- (2015-07-29) Simon Dann: Simple and amazing, would be nice to have some configurable options for auto inserting password for nickserv. But other than that it is a nice simple irc client.
- (2015-07-23) Erik Lentz: It gives a TLS error when trying to connect to my SSL secured server. Documentation is no help.
