- (2014-05-17) Jose Diaz: So convenient via web plotting!
- (2014-04-28) Lillian Cherry: Not that great. It only worked the first time, on a spreadsheet without numbers. I tried uploading a different spreadsheet file that also didn't have any numbers and nothing from the spreadsheet came up. What I am most disappointed in is that it worked the first time and then just refused to.
- (2014-02-21) Jerry Williams: I'm not very familiar with emerging technology, but this application produced a graph that gave a beautiful representation of the data. Its trend line confirmed my suspicions of where the data were leading. And..when I needed a little support, it was prompt and thorough.
- (2014-02-17) William Lamont: Good stuff.

- (2013-12-29) Bryn R Williams: The web app all data analysts have been waiting for! There are a few similar apps out there, but none with the flexibility, range and plotting muscle of this one...and it's free - as all software should be.
- (2013-12-03) Pieter Kuiper: I I started recommending Plotly as a tool for my students to plot and analyze data for course labs. This way also the distance students can collaborate. Physics labs typically require the determination of regression coefficients in some linear relation. This works well. It is nice that legends and labels can be edited. For example, the R^2 line can easily be edited out when it is close to unity, units can be added, etcetera. Everything can be customized, I have hardly started exploring the possibilities.
- (2013-11-25) Mark Awad: awesome tool for graphing. It saves me hours of work to create beautiful graphs to to display data for people to easily understand
- (2013-11-25) giacomo masato: I use my chromebook to work from home sometimes, and I code in python. I prefer to use the shell utility that comes out of the box and install python there, without the need of running a linux distro alongside. Well, plotly is exactly the missing bit to make python work beautifully with my chromebook! The graphics is great, and it is so simple to modify your plot/data once you generated your original plot. This is a great job and makes the experience of working with a chromebook even greater.
- (2013-11-12) Chris Smith: I teach statistics and Plotly is quickly fitting into our class by providing many of the basic plots and analyses that we previously hobbled together from other sites. Histograms, single variable statistics, multiple bloxplots, regressions through selected regions of data. Plotly offers customization (and a Python interface, for those so inclined) and has a refreshing sense of what makes a graph beautiful. Whether you have data on the clipboard that you want to visualize or want to enter and manipulate data through their interface, you're going to love working with Plotly!
- (2013-11-07) Carl Lipo: Beautifully done.

- (2013-09-15) Paul: Very powerful app to process and share data! Plotly is amazing.
- (2013-09-15) Anna Sundquist: This app is fantastic! It made all my graphing so much easier. The interface also has a beautiful layout. I would definitely recommend this over any other graphing application.
- (2013-09-15) 熊昭平: Great app! Powerful and easy to use.
- (2013-09-12) Triston P: Sweet app. Very easy to use. Highly Recommend.
- (2013-09-10) Natalie So: I wish Plotly had been invented when I was taking a financial stats class at school... would have saved me a LOT of work. Plotly is really easy-to-use, and as someone who is not an engineer but loves good design, I appreciate that Plotly produces aesthetically pleasing graphs. I'm also a visual learner, so the existence of Plotly really makes data easier for me to digest!
- (2013-09-09) Olivia Bonner: The Python command line option is awesome, and the styling layer they give you in the graphing GUI is remarkable. This could be a game-changer in the world of analytics, graphing, and data sharing.
- (2013-09-09) Nolan Browne: This is an very powerful data visualization platform and incredibly its free to use! Its much easier to master than really expensive programs like MATLAB and allows users to create far more precise plots than Excel. It even stores all my graphs and data in one place so I can easily recall and modify it! There are far more ways to easily format each plot so you can make it look exactly the way you want. When I ran into a problem, their customer service guy got back to me within 10 min. and literally walked me through the issues I was having.
- (2013-09-07) Super useful and slick data visualization tool. Highly recommended.
- (2013-07-05) Dylan Jude: Awesome tool, I just started using it and don't think i'll ever go back to sharing static images of plots. In my research there's a lot of back and forth emails of plots shared with my professor and other group members. Being able to only share a link and have the data be accessible to everyone has been extremely valuable.
- (2013-06-18) Ian Danforth: Great tool. In many ways it 'just works' in the way that excel and other slow clunk, older tools never do. I look forward to exploring it further!
- (2013-06-12) carmel: plotly means i can use python or a simple gui to make interactive plots of my data, from any computer, and (this is the important part) share them with a link. no need to email static .pngs! really great.
- (2013-06-11) M Sundquist: I'm super impressed by this tool. It's seamless for sharing, has excellent options for creating a graph, and let's me run spreadsheet-style analytics, all in the browser. And a Python sandbox to boot! Count me a delighted plotter.
- (2013-06-08) Paul Beeken: Off the hook! I have been "shopping" for a tool to take data sets generated from student cell phones for my physics classes. This is the solution! I have been hammering on the interface, feeding in 3k and 4k data sets, and while it can be a tiny bit sluggish (6000 points) it hasn't choked once! The really impressive feature is the ability to control the whole operation via a python backend. Any specialized analysis tool not built-in can be quickly set up in the python interface. Right know it is a little awkward (but not difficult) to manipulate the data (apply smoothing, use non-linear curve fitting, run statistics, etc.) But i am reassured that this is an area for improvement. It out performs the graphical tools that are built in to Google's Spreadsheet. The only reason I backed off on a perfect score is to encourage the extremely responsive developers to provide a smidgen more control in the back end. A very challenging task but I believe they are up to it. An amazing tool!
- (2013-06-07) David Palmer: By far one of the most useful app/web tools out there for anyone who needs to consume and visualize data on a regular or intermitent basis. Also outstanding customer service. Very highly recommended.
- (2013-05-09) Fantastically slick new plotting tool - I tried it earlier today and was very impressed. I had one issue with pasting data in so I sent a message via their feedback feature and got a response in 5 mins. Within a couple of hours the issue was fixed. Very cool new tool and great customer service - highly recommend checking this one out!
- (2013-05-09) John Burk: This is easily the most powerful and easy to use data visualization tool you'll find anywhere on the web, and it beats most software (excel, mathematica, matlab, etc) as well. Amazing.
- (2013-04-15) It's always satisfying to see Microsoft get put to shame by a startup. Excel graphs just got cockslapped.
- (2013-04-08) Ben Cline: At last - an easy way to make stunning graphs! Drag and drop data in, export the plots out. Way more intuitive than Matlab (or even Excel for that matter). Love the user interface!
- (2013-03-30) Asher Raziel: I'm working on a remote sensing project and wanted to graph all of the data I've been generating. I tried a few solutions including Dygraphs, and Plotly blew me away with the ease of use and aesthetic appeal. I find this to be very important in my connection to the data and finding meaning in it. Highly recommended
- (2013-03-26) Tom Wainwright: Definitely worth playing around with. I made graphs by uploading my excel worksheets as well as copy'ing and paste'ing the data into the plot window (NICE!)
