Recording and uploading sounds to SoundCloud lets people easily share them privately with their friends or publicly to blogs, sites and social networks. It takes just a click to share sounds to Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and Foursquare.
SoundCloud can be accessed anywhere using the official iPhone and Android apps, as well as hundreds of creation and sharing apps built on the SoundCloud platform.
SoundCloud offers free accounts to every amateur creator, with more advanced users able to upgrade to premium accounts for advanced features like statistics, controlled distribution and custom branding.

- Do not install this app to record audio on your Chromebook! The audio recording feature was removed from the Soundcloud website at the end of 2017, making this app completely redundant and useless.

- It says in the overview that it can record audio, but it cannot - at least not on chrome. When you search the website for how to record, it says you have to use a different program to record, and can then upload the recording. So - it does not behave as advertized.

- It's just a bookmark to the Soundcloud website. I'm a creator, and I'd really like a ChromeOS version of the Android app that allows me to record sounds in the field and upload them directly to Soundcloud. This does not exist in the website anymore. You only get the choice to upload files that already exist. Update this to an actual app and I will revise my review accordingly.

- All it does is link to the SoundCloud website. It doesn't really offer any useful features. They probably use it to collect data and sell it to big data.
