The default Chrome OS wallpaper app sucks. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that. But you just accept the fact. You accept the fate, and you don't do anything against it.

And shut my mouth... if you uncheck the last option "Show placeholder wallpapers when something goes wrong (otherwise keep the previous wallpaper until next cycle) problem solved. Sorry!

- (2021-07-21) Tea Comfort: Since google ended the ability to do a slideshow offline I've been looking for a slideshow app I can use offline. Was excited about this one till I looked at the settings and the shortest amount of time allowed between slides is ONE MINUTE, I don't call that a slide show. Downloaded and uninstalled in the time it took for two slides to show. ; )
- (2021-02-15) Connor Douglas: As with others; I was skepticle of downloading this application. Also like others though, it works like a charm! I had an issue at first getting it to 'start my wallpaper rotation' but after booting and closing the app a time or two, it started successfully. Note it also gives me a 'debug, grabbing new image' notificaiton each time the background switches, so I've blocked all notifications from the app. 8/10, works as expected (after restarting it a few times at first). recommended!
- (2021-01-18) Calum Urquhart: i was fairly skeptical downloading this relatively unused app but it works perfectly and does exactly what i want it too. seems stupid chrome haven't done this themselves.
- (2020-07-18) Joseph Bradley: Great app, but is there a way you can add a function that adds a black border to the wallpaper so it fits the screen? An example would be a picture that is too tall and too big for any of the default options to work. Stretch makes it too stretched; 'center', you can't see the top or bottom; center cropped, same thing as center; And with tile, it's just too big. I don't know how to program, so I don't know how hard it would be, but I'd be glad if you could add this.
- (2020-01-11) Nathan Trinh: Like many others here, it the slideshow option does not work properly unless you use Debug Mode. Even so, it somewhat lags the Chromebook whenever it changes images. There is a lack of customization. There's no option for any special transitional effects, especially the fading one featured on Windows OS.
- (2019-10-24) Tyme LaDow: Has worked pretty well and consistently for the last year or so that I've had a chromebook. Only problems I've found have been that when I restart the computer, I start getting the debug notification messages and have to go re-enable and then re-disable debug mode to make them stop. Also, sometimes it notifies me that there was an issue changing backgrounds, but doesn't give a reason why or tell me which image in the folder it is having an issue changing to, so I can't tell if it's just a temporary issue, or if one image has a specific issue that this can't deal with for whatever reason. Wish I got a little more info on the problem to troubleshoot a little more myself or remove corrupted images. (Also, why does this upload the images to google drive continually? it deletes and overwrites the 'old' version of each image, so my drive isn't getting overrun, but if the images are saved locally, why do they have to be uploaded to google drive to begin with?)
- (2019-10-09) Bob Meyer: Wanted this to have a slideshow of wallpaper, but it always shows the same one. I set the time between images to 10 minutes, but it never changes. Pretty worthless.
- (2019-09-29) Scubadoo Calgary: When I first installed this app, it worked. After trying Shufflepaper, which did not work, I reverted to this app, which now does not work in Slideshow mode. Even after Powerwashing my Chromebook, this app does not work in Slideshow mode.
