Description from store
This is a complete re-write of the original version which was removed last year by Google due to issues with the original code... They weren't wrong... it was awful.
This application provides File System for your OneDrive storage for those of us not able to levy the android apps in ChromeOS.
This software provides you an ability to mount your OneDrive storage to your Chrome OS.

- (2023-07-19) Carlitos Ivan: Its not working, does not open the file, power point.
- (2022-11-09) - PLPolski -: When I am in some web apps and try to download a document my OneDrive does not appear in my Chromebook files app. I see downloads and google drive but not OneDrive. This creates an extra step to go back into OneDrive and upload the file. Has anyone else had this experience?
- (2022-11-07) Edward Patch: Love this software for ChromeOS. However, look into mounting this in a shareable area to access the files via the Linux terminal for example and some how adding offline capability. Other than these points, love the software, keep up the good work.
- (2022-07-21) Owais Hassan Farooqui: helped alot, made huge time saving in life as office 365 is way better than google sheets and switching was an issue
- (2022-02-24) Daniel U.: Works for me. This is a game-changer for my Chromebox. Thank you developers!
- (2022-02-18) Darrell: works fine
- (2022-01-29) P: Not sure about the old comments, as of 1/2022 the newer version works great! I can finally integrate One Drive into Chromebook. Thank you for developing such a wonderful tool! Five Stars! Some improvements would help. 1. Occasionally the old time-out message pops up. 2. If I use online Excel to edit a file, it won't automatically sync until I navigate away and come back to the folder. --- Update, there is an option to turn on sync. A bit delay, but better than nothing. 3. If I try to Save a file from Chrome, I don't see the One Drive folder.
- (2021-09-27) Thom Hoch: Not sure about the negative reviews, although most are from circa 2018. Downloaded and it mounted right up. Now able to be seen in Chrome Files App. I'll update review if I find a problem.
- (2021-06-27) Jim Hart: Just installed it, but wanted to comment that it now works. Previous reviews are out of date. This app is actually an extension to the Files app. It provides a "service". As such, it doesn't sync. it provides access to Onedrive as a kind of network mount. Files can be downloaded, but it isn't automatic. Therefore, the only files that will open directly are those supported by the online versions of Microsoft Office. Unfortunately, the mount can't be shared with Linux, which is why I gave it a 4 rather than a 5.
- (2021-06-06) Anusorn Wongsa: It seem to have trouble opening pdf size over > 1MB. Some large files is also not working.
- (2021-04-05) Mark: 4mb cap makes it kind of worthless. Hopefully it clears beta soon
- (2021-01-16) Regan -D-: Seems to be working fine after a re-write. It installed easily and shows all my One Drive files. So far it's good.
- (2020-12-19) Trains77: It kinda worked, I could see the contents of the items in my Onedrives but when I try to copy any file of any size it partially copies before crashing, and this included under 4 Megabytes
- (2020-10-11) G. L.: The new release from july 2020 is a BIG improvement, thank you!! Tested for only 1 day and so far folder navigation works, only get occasionally the old time-out message. I also have the Onedrive app installed, needed to open office documents in Chrome. One thing that still confuses me (but not sure if it has to do with this app or with Microsoft) is that when i double-click on an office file, let's say an Excel file from the file system, you are not opening and editing the source file, but just a downloaded copy that is placed in a onedrive folder called "office extension". I realized i ended up with many copies of the same file, saved somewhere else, but the original file was not edited nor the changes saved there. To actually edit the source file you should open it only from the browser itself (and not from the file system). This is not an intuitive behaviour and slightly defies the purpose of browsing files with this extension... Can you please advise if i am doing something wrong?
- (2020-10-08) Matt B: More of a feature request but idk where to do that. The app works well but a major thing thats missing is the ability to download files from the browser direct to onedrive.
- (2020-10-07) Cameron Reape: I love this connection! I use onedrive for school, and am mostly a chrome book fan, soo—makes sense to have this as a By Google extension.
- (2020-07-12) Jai Fernandez: As of this writing (July 2020) I can easily access my picture files. I am unable to access my PDF files.
- (2020-07-11) Kit Lam: This could be massively useful! But is need a hell lot of work to be done. My ebooks fail to open every single time. It just simply doesn't work! I would be thankful of the developer could one day complete it.
- (2019-06-24) Stephen Word: When loaded from the "Files" app under the "add service" function it worked perfectly fine to add my OneDrive. However, I need to add more than 1. I also have a school OneDrive I would like to add, and the functionality to do this is missing. Even when re-launching the "File System for OneDrive" app. Add the function and 5 stars will follow.
- (2019-05-15) Peter Mead: Every few minutes get the 'application too too long to respond...' error. It would otherwise be the greatest app on my Chromebook. So many users willing to use a Chromebook if only this app worked.
- (2019-05-14) Sherman Leung: It seems to work fine so far. However, the move command didn't work perfectly. I tried moving a folder from OneDrive to Google Drive. The app did copy the folder but failed to delete the folder in OneDrive. I had to go back and delete the folder manually but it's no big deal.
- (2019-05-14) Patrick André: I tried installing this app a few months ago to my Acer Chromebook and it failed, as it did for many users (see other reviews). However, I tried installing it again today, and it's working fine. I suspect that the Chrome OS update somehow fixed the glitch. I would encourage other users to update their OS, and try installing the app again. You never know!
- (2019-05-02) Foul Dragon aka Jan W: This extension is not working at all. After mounting the OneDrive it may work once, but then ask to abort the extension coz it has timed out. Absolutely annoying, A waste of time, and complete rubbish.
- (2019-04-01) Robert Ferracane: As of 3/31/2019, still get same message as others: 'an operation is taking longer than expected.. Do you want to abort?' OneDrive files DO appear and sometimes I can open them, but it takes quite a while, while the abort message continues to appear. Sometimes, after I click 'abort', then the file will open. As others have noted, if this worked seamlessly and consistently, it would be a fantastic feature. Hope it will be fixed one day, or that someone else will write a new, working version of this concept.
- (2019-03-24) Zuan Lim: I can access OneDrive via the Files system. However, when I tried to download a document, the OneDrive just isn't there as a destination for my download file.
- (2019-03-13) Clifford Slocombe: Barely works - symptoms include: At times causes Files app to stall blocking access to all files local and on cloud services, spontaneous restart of Chromebook when working with files, repeated failure notifications for file transfer that never go away, even when you select "Abort", attempt to "Close" the drive in Files app ignored. Experimental at best. Sticking with Web interface for reliability.
- (2019-02-15) Anyone getting similar error message? "OneDrive -- An operation is taking longer than expected. Do you want to abort them?"
- (2019-01-19) Bill Ridge: This does not work on my Acer Chromebook Spin 13. It installs. You can see your files initially but seconds after you get a Chromebook notification that the OneDrive operation is taking longer than expected and do you want to abort it. For those that have a machine capable of running Linux, I had better lucking installing the OneDrive Client (https://github.com/skilion/onedrive) on that. When you do, you can get to your files under My Files>Linux Files>OneDrive.
- (2018-11-16) Mathew Sheldon: Does not stay connected. Every time I log into it times out and errors come up to abort the process because it is taking to long to load. It makes this completely unusable. All of my school files are saved on OneDrive and now that I have a Chromebook, I am having a very hard time being able to access the files as easily as I can on my desktop. Horrible Product.
- (2018-11-08) Andrea Dalseno: On my Chormebook (70.0) it does not work. It starts fine but then when you open File again you get the message that the operation is taking too long and you must eject the drive. It would be awesome but simply does not work. Google please do something!
- (2018-11-02) Aaron Wiebe: I have used this in the past, didn't work. BUT! There must have been an update, I just tried logging in with my onedrive for business account and it mounted the drive without any problems. Well done!
- (2018-10-11) Steve Ray: Rubbish, doesn't work.
- (2018-10-05) Caillean Batty: Doesn't work!
- (2018-09-29) Nick Apostolopoulos: Just doesn't work yet. Constantly asked me to Abort. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. It would be so nice to have. And it really needs copying functionality too.
- (2018-09-25) M MB: It is a waste of time. Just does not work
- (2018-09-15) Rufus Bazley: it doesn't work, so pointless. if they could get the token issue fixed so it's not constantly erroring it would be a 5 star app.
- (2018-09-12) Robert Schwering: This item keeps failing currently for me. I am willing to pay for this. Please help it would ever be so useful!!!
- (2018-09-06) Arend Ligtenberg: Looked great initially but times out and does react anymore. Tried several times
- (2018-09-04) Tyler Pollock: Very often disconnects or has constant notifications come up on my chromebook saying an operation went wrong, and nothing makes it go away. It also will randomly disconnect from my OneDrive account with no notice or warning whatsoever.
- (2018-08-26) Steve Upperton: This is awful I wish I had read the reviews first however I was walked through signing up through Chrome OS so presumed all would be well. I to am getting the operation taking longer than expected message every 5 mins and can not seem to uninstall!!
- (2018-08-22) Jonas Paulsen: Still disconnects
- (2018-08-06) This would be an excellent tool. I would like to see the developers keep working on this. As of now it is barely functional and will often not open files
- (2018-08-06) Like many others, this extension continually times out and fails to work more than once in a while. A great shame, it's very useful when it does work. :-(
- (2018-08-03) Cary Hayes: Constant having to mount the cloud drive is killing me. Need something permanent, soon!!!
- (2018-07-28) Austyn Deseo: useless. Worked once. I get a repeating notification from ChromeOS saying that an operation is taking longer than expected and wonders if I want to abort it. I use OneDrive primarily. Having access to my files without having to go to the website would be amazing.
- (2018-07-26) Matt Russo: Constantly hangs up
- (2018-07-10) Chaney Goldstein: The app works great, when it works. Every time I boot up my chromebook, it never appears until I re-mount the network share. I would love to see a working update in the future, especially from a developer that has made functioning variations with other cloud services like Dropbox work with Chrome OS. I still use it, and I get over the fact that it might never be fixed.
- (2018-07-08) Eric A: Gosh -- this app it should be noted is a very valiant effort at domiciling together a tiger and a gazelle in harmony. The ecosystems and languages used to express Windows and Google, respectively, could not be more divergent. That said, why keep up and functional what is essentially a cuck-tease? If I could rely upon this app to mount into Chrome OS it would amplify my productivity in ways I have not yet even gotten to explore. Graduate studies-oriented data (Windows OneDrive) with journalism career (Google oriented). Hopefully some other developer willing to work through this unlikely but advantageous union will be able to resolve why OneDrive gets hung up immediately and consistently notifies ChromeOS of the need to abort the service. ECA
- (2018-07-06) William Jantsch: As others have noted, this extension is non-functional at this time. However, it would be an astonishingly useful feature if it did work. Please continue working on the concept- I would be willing to pay to have OneDrive solidly mounted on my Chromebook.
- (2018-07-02) John Howard: UPDATE July 2 2018. Problem is the same except aborting is more difficult. Suggest removing from webstore entirely until problems are fixed. Like many others have already said, app constantly disconnects with message saying token has expired. I have two Chromebooks. Same problem on both.
