Description from store
The GPX viewer is made for the purpose of viewing the gpx file that you recorded.
You can load tracks from gpx file and show them on a Maps view. You can also see your GPS position on a map and use viewer as navigation.
This GPX Viewer does not save or share the file you select. It only works locally without going through the server. (HTML5 technology)
You can open a GPX file to view from your computer or your Google Drive.
With this viewer you can open a gpx file and view its contents very easily.
*What is a GPX file?
GPX, or GPS Exchange Format, is an XML schema designed as a common GPS data format for software applications.
It can be used to describe waypoints, tracks, and routes. The format is open and can be used without the need to pay license fees. Its tags store location, elevation, and time and can in this way be used to interchange data between GPS devices and software packages. Such computer programs allow users, for example, to view their tracks, project their tracks on satellite images or other maps, annotate maps, and tag photographs with the geolocation in the Exif metadata.

- (2022-03-02) David Matos: This thing behaves in a very suspicious manner. It’s not actually an extension as advertised and comes without intelligible uninstall. You can get rid of it by going to chrome://apps/, right click and delete (thanks Adam Wood). Or better yet, don’t install and open directly from Gmaps (limited to 5MB unfortunately)

- (2020-01-14) Jack Cawley: Utterly useless. Draws straight lines rather follows a road route. Spent ages trying to use it, but gave up as it is an impossible app to use.

- (2019-07-26) Jon Elliott: adware, possible spyware, and i never found the application to view gpx files. the high rating should be a warning that this is a scam.

- (2019-06-16) Rolf Knudsen: Sendes you to another page, and GPX is forgotten.....
- (2019-06-15) Adam Hegedus: It wants to disable adblocker. If you force anything on me than you don't worth it for me.
- (2019-03-15) Robert Sinclair: Forces you to turn off ad block, then when do it still complains about ad block. Waste of time
- (2019-01-11) jonny towers: DO NOT USE!!!! One of our clients had called us stating they had tried installling some software to read particular files etc. I went onto his PC and the extension had infected the whole browser. Only option was to reset to default. READ REVIEWS BEFORE DOWNLOADING SOFTWARE!!!!!!
- (2018-11-30) Adam Wood: Basically this is just a shell containing Google Maps, a slightly easier way to open GPX files in Google Maps, plus spammy advertisements around the edges. The advertisements are designed to be misleading (e.g., they have a "open file" button in the image, which they want to trick you into clicking in order to do something probably malicious to your computer). For anyone trying to uninstall this, go to chrome://apps/ then find the app, right click, and click remove. I don't know whether this app actually is malware and whether removing it in this way will actually get rid of it entirely.
- (2018-06-10) Alex Taylor: Looks nice but there's no detail view ie data point info. Would be nice to see this eg when clicking on a point.
- (2018-06-04) forces me to disable my ad blocker and even if I deactivate it, it keeps asking me to disable it. GTFO of my browser.
- (2018-02-15) Roland Rosier: Refused to work for me - Google says that it is not verified as safe.
- (2017-10-30) Lê Nghị: This app is so cool. However, I still cannot view the route length.
- (2017-08-26) Justin Folger: Spyware/adware. OpenDNS and SafeDNS don't like it, won't run unless you enable an ad-tracker javascript. No thanks!

- (2017-08-07) Mark Zupan: what a piece of complete garbage!
- (2017-06-11) Siori (Siori): Can't be removed, spam/ad's
- (2017-03-19) 曾正鈞: good
- (2016-12-28) Chris Vella: This can't be removed from chrome, doesn't add itself to chrome and is full of adds and likely spyware too!
- (2016-12-03) Nick Davel: Does not show in Chrome
- (2016-11-06) Stan Huntting: Refuses to do anything while my ad blocker is enabled.
- (2016-09-07) Dragan Nikolic: Fantastic!
- (2016-04-28) Napoleon Alegre: Very good!
- (2016-03-09) Carlos Perez-Palacio: The app is fine. It saves using a stand alone software for viewing GPX files and it overlays on Google Maps so it's good. As said above, it doesn't load the file from Drive so you have to download to your HDD. I can see an elevation profile but it's plotted against time, I rather have it plotted against distance as it is a lot more useful. Thanks for developing.
- (2016-02-07) Abb'z Yandog: cool
- (2015-06-13) Clifford Slocombe: Very basic loads GPX to Google Map. Did not display elevation profile for route, the "Load File from Google Drive" did not display GPX files that were present - showing an empty folder. The advertising links were difficult to distinguish from application menus.
- (2015-05-24) Kenneth Rodrigues: Works well with Handy GPS App Tool on Smart Mobile , no need for Garmin or TomTom GPS !!
- (2015-04-08) Herd c Fernando: good
- (2015-02-28) Ronald Cook: Very pleased with a simple app that does what it says it will. The GPS trace is color coded for speed so that as a school bus driver (sub) I can use my phone to trace a route and know where the stops are.
